Xbox console does not register the wireless controller. I have synced the devices. The console and controller both recognize the other, but after that the controller just blinks.

I took my Xbox 360 apart to clean it when I put it back together everything works good but wireless controllers won't sync but wired controllers work anyone run into this problem

Hey Chad! I'm thinking it can't reaaaally be a coincidence that after you took apart your Xbox to clean it up that your wireless controllers stopped working. For that reason, I'm assuming that perhaps you may have accidentally disrupted one of the connections between the wireless syncing device inside the Xbox and its motherboard so that it doesn't function properly. My recommendation to you is to open your Xbox back up, now that you've voided the warranty already, and try to look around and see if there are any visible breaks in the connection between the syncing device (you can see where it's located just by looking at the front facing panel of the Xbox) and the cords or connectors that come out of it. Good luck to you, I hope it works out!

How to sync your Xbox 360 wireless controller

I have come across a few questions asking why a wireless controller is on but not connected, or why it is on and no corresponding green lights were on, etc.. So here it is: DRAGONF1R3 REPAIRS' GUIDE TO SYNC YOUR XBOX 360 CONTROLLER TO IT'S CONSOLE

Quite a title I know, but the actual guide is very simple.

Step 1: Power on your Xbox 360 console. In this guide I'm assuming everyone already has their console hooked up, if not, contact me.

Step 2: Power on Xbox 360 Controller. Make sure it has a battery pack that has correctly place and working batteries or charged re-chargeable battery pack.

Step 3: Locate the small circular sync button on your controller. It is near where your controller can be plugged in (between the LB and RB).

Step 4: Locate the small circular sync button on your Xbox 360 console. It is next to Memory Unit slot 2.

Step 5: Press and hold the controller sync button until the green power lights start spinning.

Step 6: While your controller lights are still spinning press and hold the console sync button. The console's lights should spin also, then flash, and finally show the player slot light on both the console and the controller.

Viola! You've synced your wireless controller! You can sync up to four controllers.
Also, you can use this guide to sync to different Xbox 360 consoles. So you can bring only your controller to your friend's house.

Note: If you sync your controller to another console, you will have to re-sync it to your own afterwords.

Wireless Xbox 360 controller turns on, connects, then turns off after it chooses a player number.

It sounds like your new controller needs to be "sync'ed" (synchronized) to your console so that the console recognizes the controller. Turn on console with controller. Then press sync button on front of controller (small button) and then within 20 seconds press little sync button on front of controller (not the top, its the forward part facing console, little button)

How do i reactivate the wireless controller to my xbox 360

How to Configure an Xbox Controller Fotolia.com"> configure-xbox-controller-800x800.jpg Configure you Xbox controller.

The Xbox 360 utilizes two types of controllers: wired and wireless. Like most operations on a video game console, configuring a controller requires little effort. You can either plug the controller into a port on the Xbox 360, or sync a wireless controller using the console's built-in controls.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions

  1. Wired
    • 1 Connect the controller's cable to the in-line release cord. This cord prevents you from accidentally pulling the Xbox 360 along with your controller during game play.
    • 2 Insert the in-line release cord's USB plug into the USB port on the front of the console.
    • 3 Turn on the console to activate the controller automatically.
    Wireless
    • 1 Insert batteries in your wireless controller, if necessary.
    • 2 Hold down the "Guide" button on the controller.
    • 3 Push the Xbox 360's "Connect" button, located on the front of the console.
    • 4 Push the controller's "Connect" button to sync it with the Xbox 360.

The white wireless contoller from an older white x box 360 does not connect with the black kinnect x box 360 we just purchased.. i was told they were compatible why doesnt the white controller work with...

There is a sync button next to the Play and Charge port on the controller, all you have to do is press both the sync button on the Xbox and the controller and it should connect. On the nonslim Xbox 360's the sync button is right next to the infared sensor and the memory card slots. On the slim Xbox 360 the sync button will be right next to the usb ports on the front of the Xbox 360 console. When you successfully start the sync the led's for the controller's and console's lights will spin and be ready for you to press the sync button on the other device.
(PS, you have to have both the console and the controller on for this to work; PPS, By controller on I mean having it searching)

Controller does not turn on xbox

CAUSE Connection problems might be caused by one or more of the following factors:

Weak batteries or a weak Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack

Interference from another wireless device, such as a microwave oven, a cordless phone, or a wireless router

Metallic objects positioned between the console and the wireless controller, such as a chrome faceplate or metal dividers, shelves, or doors on an entertainment center cabinet

There are already four controllers connected to the console.

My Wireless controller is not being recognized by my console, when i turn on the controller it blinks repeatedly, what can I do?

Try using the sync button. Push the sync button on the xbox, then on the controller.
If that doesnt work, get a cord and plug it into the console. One it is connected you can unplug it and shouldnt have anymore problems.

Xbox wont sync with my wireless contorller

Have you ever synced one of these controllers before?

Hold the controller in your hand as if you were playing a game. Next flip the controller up so that the buttons on it, are facing you.

There is a small white button that you will see. Power your xbox up and after you get to your main menu press the sync button located about 2 inches to the left of your main power button on your console.

Press the described button on the console and then the described button on your controller. The two should sync together perfectly fine.

Tried connecting controller with xbox on and buttons doesnt work

If you power up a new controller and the Ring of Light lights just keep cycling around in a circle without settling on a position, this means that the game console does not recognize that controller.

This can happen with a new controller or when replacing batteries.

To sync it up with the XBox 360, you need to first turn on your game machine,

then turn on the wireless controller (push the Xbox button and hold it until it lights up),

then press the little connect button on the game console (round button to the right of the two memory slots on the front of the machine),

then press the connect button on the rear of the wireless controller in between the left and right buttons that you normally push with your index fingers (above and to the right of the battery release button).

The Ring of Light will cycle on the controller and then it will be assigned a position by the Xbox and stay lit. To turn a controller off or disconnect it, press and hold the Xbox button in the middle for a second or two until the light goes off - if you are in the middle of a game it will ask you if you want to turn off just the controller or the console as well. When the console powers down, all wireless controllers are automatically turned off.

If this does not work, attempt to connect with a different controller to make sure that the controller you are trying to use is not defective.

Hope this helps!
