Our sanyo lcd tv is a couple of years old and recently when the tv is on for the first couple of hours the screen will flicker and get progressivly darker from the center of the screen to the left. Sometimes the whole left side of the tv is darker than the right. the image is still visible but very faint and the image drags and has trails. usually after a few hours it will clear up but sometimes not. I have a short video capturing the problem. thanks

Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics, Poland Maine. This problem is caused by a defective LCD panel. This part is very expensive! Aprox $ 1000.00 from Sanyo and less than $400.00 from Encompass Parts Inc.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

No,It is call screen Pixels burn in,useally same images on screen 2 or 3 hrs or video games people play and pause forgot about the game 2 or 3 hours.Like i fix 2 Plama tvs for a sport bars both of them have ESPN logo on them burn in it screen. These reason, that why people computer on for 8 or 10 hours a day people have screen saver, changes pictures every 5 to 10 sec.
The problem i'm having is, when you turn the tv on it has a split screen with the left side shaken off a little bit. if you give it a tap on the left side it will flicker and the whole screen will come on.
We've had the Sanyo 1080p Flat screen TV for about a year and a half and the right side of the TV is black when we turn it on and after about 45 minutes in brightens. Sometimes it still has lines flickering throught he uper right.
sanyo is a junk tv, and I will NEVER purchase another....less than 5 years old black clouds on the screen, repairs are cost more than the cost of a new tv.....
