Replaced lamp now lamp light keeps flashing still also the stand by temp light flashes

Sounds like a door switch is not making proper contact--or has been damaged. Check the lamp door switch and see if it is properly seated and the pin on the door is hitting the leaf of the switch.

When you turn the tv on the red light on the front(stand by/timer)flashes and the tv starts to come on and then it turns off.

Do you mean the screen turns on briefly or the stand by light just keeps blinking. If the tv turns off after switching on then it probably means a protection circuit fault. Also please provide me the number of times it blinks before it pauses. Awaiting your resposnse.

Regards,
Sai.

What should i do is my LG 42LC2RR's stand by light keeps blinking but it does turn on

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

Problem may be due to dust.

It won't switch on! The stand by light just keeps flash in every few seconds, it had been taking a few seconds to come on the last 3 or 4 times iv switched it on and now it doesn't come on at all

The power supply may be bad. Sometimes, it's just a capacitor or two that needs to be replaced. Take it in for service if you don't know how to check the board yourself. Good luck!

Power supply keeps turning off

You may have answered your own question, if the power adapter is turning off It stands to reason that it is either over heating or has failed. Other thing that might be happening is your TV might have a auto reset switch that powers the unit down because another componet has already failed.. this keeps the unit from sustaining further damage... Good luck

My tv keeps going off too but where is the "small panel" on the back?Is it at the bottom under the stand? Do I have to take the stand off to find this switch? This is the dvd model.

The switch you were talking about is not on every Akai only some of them have a power switch on the back panel, People in the forums are not what I would call "experts" many of them are just regular people who tried something and it worked. The issue with your TV is not a simple on / off switch, it is related to bad capacitors on the power pack and the more you use it with bad capacitors the more damage will occure to the video processing board.
