How do you start playing with it. i plugged it into my computer but nothing happened?

Is that happened when you start computer or while playing? If it happens when you start you computer than check there mihht be some text or some sound from CPU. If it happens while playing just try to shutdown by press and hold power button. To help I need some more details

make sure plug and play is enabled or autoplay is on

Please call the manufacturer, CrowleyJones at 512-485-3050 and they will solve the problem or send you a new unit.

It seems like a motherboard issue. It heats up, thus is not able to turn on continuously. You may need to check internal parts embeded on the motherboard llike the fan and processor before you could know what needs replacement.

Try holding down the play/pause button while you hook the cable up. You may have to hold the play button up to 60 seconds before the screen lights up.

When my computer wouldn't recognize my Pearl, these are the steps I followed after downloading the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1

remove the battery,
start the program,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button when the term "initializing" replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.

You might want to try leaving the "format data" box unchecked the first time. If that doesn't work and allow you to backup your music, bite the bullet and format the data area.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again. It also fixed my aac-error problem.

After 3 1/2 hours, the battery went dead. I waited a couple of minutes, then plugged it into my computer to see if the battery would charge. It started charging. A few hours later I went back to check on it, and it showed a full battery. I disconnected it from my computer, and turned it on. It came on, but the screen just said "Low Battery". I then plugged it back into my computer, and the screen said "Rebuilding Library". I left it for about a 1/2 hour, and it was done. I unplugged it from my computer, turned it on, and it works now!! Hope this helps out everyone else who has the same problem.
