I heard that the Polaroid One Step Instant Camera uses batteries. Is there any way I can find the batteries in stores? I received this camera from a friend and they did not give me the camera with the box. They only gave me the camera. Please answer soon!

The camera itself doesn't have a battery, each film cartridge contains a battery and the flash etc is powered from that ... just insert a new film cartridge!

The battery is included in the film pack. If you open the film door you will see the battery contacts in the lower side of the compartment. These line up with the battery holes (looks like foil in the holes) in the film pack. If you have an old film pack and no power the battery in the old pack may be dead.

I have an old Polaroid Impulse camera I want give to my grandson. I just want the flash to work. Where do I put the batteries? He's only 2, he doesn't need film! Debbie

The batteries for Polaroid 600 series cameras are located inside the film pack. Polaroid discontinued manufacture of their film in 2006, a company called The Impossible Project has began limited production of some of this type of film but it's selling for about $20/10 photos.

Which film is best for the Polaroid One Step 600 Film Camera

Polaroid has not manufactured film for 600 cameras in about 5 years now. The only current source is The Impossible Project, which gives 8 shots per pack, black and white images only, and they tend to fade rather quickly. You can find and order online by searching the name. The Polaroid versions available are no longer really usable because the batteries are drained, film has expired and chempaks have oxidized.

Again, the only CURRENT, in-date, usable film for Polaroid 600 is made by TIP, available thru their website. There are some scumbags out there online selling old Polaroid film they've re-dated and selling it as current and fresh film - it is not. The newest Polaroid brand film expired in 2009. Buyer beware.

My daughter bought a Polaroid One Step camera at a yard sale, but the battery is dead. Is there a way to change the battery?

Polaroid OneStep cameras have the battery built-in to the film back. If you are using Polaroid 600 film, simply change the film cartridge.

Polaroid 600 Camera, won't take a picture.

How old is the film in it?

Polaroid film packs have a battery included (a polarpulse powercell, I think).

If its an old film, the battery can go flat and as far as I'm aware there's no way to get power in to it.

I would take the cartridge out, (effectively not use the last shot), try a new cartridge to see if its working properly, then send the old cartridge back to Polaroid, if you think its faulty.

Help with Polaroid 600 film choices & how to use One Step Cameras

the flash will work when you put film in. the film has a battery and the camera works off the battery in the film. the arrows make the picture dark or light.
the polaroid spectra onyx made in 1987 is a totally sharp and beautiful looking camera. you also can put filters on the front of it. this camera was used by law enforcement many years ago so it is made very steardy and well. i own one myself and the pictures are perfect everytime. look this camera up on Ebay, you will not be disappointed.

also, here is a website for you to look up film information

Poloroid 600 wont turn on

This is a Polaroid 600, sometimes called the 'land camera' in an older guise, and this is the film and battery.

See, the battery in this camera comes in the film package. It is on the bottom of it, when you take out the cartridge when you have taken all 10 pictures (it only holds 10), you will see a paper and silver bag left at the bottom. There's your battery.
So if it really is a polaroid 600, when you replace the film, you replace the battery. If the battery quits before you used all 10 prints, there's nothing you can do but replace both of them and waste the rest of the shots.
I have worked with photos for years, and never seen a cartridge with more than 10 prints in it, for that camera. Not saying it's not possible, but I think you'll find there's only 10.
Good luck!
