The greater part of the ongoing Linksys routers has a sticker as an afterthought or base that has the "processing plant" secret phrase. You can set your own, however. On the off chance that you have, resetting the switch back to manufacturing plant defaults will typically hamper the secret word to that. They aren't utilizing a similar secret word overall model (or all models) like they used to.
In the event that your Linksys switch isn't reacting and a reboot doesn't help, we have the particular bearings for every single model recorded here. And furthermore, if that doesn't work you can generally attempt to play out the 30 resets on your Linksys switch to check whether that makes a difference.
Associate the PC to Ethernet jack on the switch. Ensure that you plug your PC into a port that is gathered close to a few others Ethernet jacks - the secluded Ethernet jack marked "WAN" doesn't work for secret key recuperation.

·Type in your switch's location - this is some minor departure from "192.168.0.1" - and sign in to the switch's organization board.
·Snap the "Remote" tab to get to your switch's remote settings.
·Look down the page until you discover the switch's system settings. The secret key is commonly recorded close to a drawdown menu with remote secret word settings; this menu contains settings, for example, "WEP and "WPA." Since you have the Router name and Password, you are prepared to associate your remote PCs and gadgets to the system. To become familiar with associating your remote gadgets physically.

Really the easiest way to do this is to get onto the computer that is wired to the router and open an internet explorer page. then type in 192.168.1.1 and the username and password window is going to pop up. if you haven't changed this, it should be 'admin' and 'admin'. then you will go to the wireless tab, then the wireless security sub tab. there you will find your network passkey.

good luck.

How i chning computer password

LOST WIFI SECURITY KEY WORD
If you have lost your WEP/WAP wifi key phrase there is no way to recover it except go into the router administration settings and see if it is in plain text there. If not then you will have to make up a new key phase and apply it to ALL your connected devices.
In future, write the key phrase down on a piece of tape and apply it to the bottom of your router. You can use a hint instead of the actual phrase.
I use the memo function of my cell phone to keep all my passwords and keys.

Pin number

It has probably been a while since you set up the security options on your Linksys router, and chances are, you've forgotten or lost the WEP key.
Luckily, you can easily recover this security code when you need it.
A base computer and a printer are required for this task.

Open a Web browser on your base computer.
Navigate to the Linksys setup menu by typing "http://192.168.1.1" into the browser's address bar and pressing "Enter."
This is the router's LAN address.

Locate the "Security" tab near the top of the window.
Clicking on this tab unlocks your WEP code, so to speak the code is now displayed on the screen.

Print this screen by clicking "File" and then "Print" on your browser's toolbar.
Verify that the entire page printed correctly and that no digits are missing from the end of the WEP key.
If any numbers are missing, fill them in.

Type in your WEP key when prompted by the wireless setup screens on other computers in your network.
This will allow the computers to access your local network and the Internet.

Return to the base computer and close out of the Linksys setup screen by clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner of the application window.

Where can I find the WPA or WPA 2 Key on my Cisco N?

The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

What is a network key? how do I find it

Hello!
A network key is commonly associated with your wifi (wireles internet) network. It's purpose is to block other people out of your internet system which is pretty important... if you don't want other people freeloading off your internet! Basically it would ask you for your "network key" to type in, almost like a password in order to access your internet.
It's common for people for forget/lose their network keys. Just as in your case, many people have difficulty recovering it.
Below is a detailed link as an example to finding a network key (for a Linksys brand router). Make sure you identify your routers brand.

Wireless router connection problems

Assuming "cannot connect to linksys router directly" means you cannot connect to a Wireless Lan managed by Linksys router,
1) try to connect new computer to LinkSys Router using a Lan cable, add new PC to your network.
2) recover protocol (WEP or WPA) and Key of WLAN (Passphrase or Key: TKIP or AES) either from other PC on same network either from your Router.
3) If you missed actual key you must connect to router and reset it to a new key to be eventually used for every connected device.

My router is a wrt54gs wireless-g,but it is wired ether cable.

  1. Make sure that your game console is wi-fi/wireless ready.
  2. Check the wireless settings (SSID, Wireless Security) which are configured in your router. To do that you need to access your router's setup page.
  3. Launce IE from the computer connected to the router and type 192.168.1.1 which is the default IP address of Linksys routers. Then, it will open a window asking for a username and password. By default, there is no username. Type admin on the password field.
  4. Once you're in the router's user interface, click WIRELESS tab. Take note of the SSID or wireless network name.
  5. Then, click on a sub tab called Wireless Security. You will find there the type of security enabled in the router as well as the security key.
  6. These settings such as SSID and wireless security should be configured to your game console in order for it to connect to your wireless network through the Linksys router.
  7. Hope this helps!
