Why has my canon printer suddenly started printing a foreign language

Try un installing the driver and re-install it!You can Download the new version of the driver from www.canon.co.za or www.canon.com and see if it works!!

canon only support UFRII language. so that.
before you print this document convert in to the PDF file and then give print command.
machine will give prper out put.

I think you installed your printer manually. So that the device driver selection may have change to some other language. Same once happen to me.

Uninstall the old printer drivers and install new drivers with language support EN manually if your installing drivers manually.

I suggest you to install updated drivers. Please follow through these links for updated Canon LBP-2900B drivers.

Is the program you are printing from in english.
Do a test page from Vista and see what language appears.

when ur give the order of printing. it shows various options related to ur print on screen such as font style,paper type ...
in those u can find ur language setting.Just change it toENGLISH.
if it doesnt work then reinstall the printer setup & that time choose the ENGLISH language.

reset the printer

1. First of all, you must completely uninstall your current driver (with foreign language).
2. Download Epson R290 English Language Driver from here :
http://www.epson.com.sg/epson/drivers/driver_download.htm?dc=1&mode=3&mfalse&catid=1&pid=1259
3. Unplug your printer USB Cable from your PC
4. Run : Setup.exe
5. Follow the instruction, and thats it. You've English Language now :)

I have tried this and it worked :)

The print properties are completely software based and have nothing to do with the printer itself. You've had to have installed the wrong version of the print driver or your operating system is set to the wrong default language. I'm assuming you would know if you were running a foreign copy of Windows so I would uninstall the printer and then download and reinstall the English version from the Ricoh website.

if your computer is in a foreign language - and you cannot understand the prompts. try the following.
1 press the setup button
2 press the right arrow key once
3 press the down arrow key twice
4 press the right arrow key twice

that should put you on the languages, scroll through the options until you find English (or your preferred language) and press the right arrow key twice once more - that should reset the language for you
