My Acer AL1914 monitor works perfectly. However, when I turn off the computer and then turn it back on, the screen does not come back on. The word ACER will pop up for a moment and then goes away, the green light next to the on/off button on the monitor steadily blinks. The only way I can get my "desk top" to show is to unplug the cords from the back of the monitor, wait a minute or 2 and then plug in the power cord and then the connection cord immediately. If I have trouble getting the connection cord plugged in right away, the screen will not come on and I have to unplug the cords again and wait a minute or two and then try again! Is this a driver problem??? I've tried to download and reload a driver but have not been sucessful. I use windowsXP.
both cord have been replace. The same thing happens if i switch my monitor off. When turn it back on (monitor on/off button) the green light comes on, looks like the monitor is trying to come on, and then the green light on the monitor start blinking...pusing the on/off button on the monitor then does nothing...i'ts got to be something in the programing/system. would like to know how to read the system files for the monitor start/restart.both cord have been replace. Not the monitor. check that both end of the cable are tight. The most likely problem is the video card in the computer it it works okay on the XP computer.
As far as the clarity concerned, the PC Video setting should be set to the native resolution of this monitor, which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz for best picture.
Try it on another PC also, otherwise you may have to open it up but we need to narrow down the problem first. http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague http://www.badcaps.net Please post back what you find so we can guide you further and will also help other people as well.
Check the color settings in the on-screen menu. You can choose between "Warm", "Cool" and "User". Maybe you used the "Warm" setting before and somehow it got changed to "Cool". If this is not the case, you can try the "User" mode and reduce the intensity of the blue channel. If even black areas show a blue tint, maybe running an auto configuration from the menu helps. As a last resort, use the "Reset" menu item which resets all settings to factory defaults.
sounds like the ribbon connection from circuit board to screen is faulty. but double check your graphics card and cable before you send it for repair. this problem is often caused by a burnt out graphics card
Check your connections to the PC. Make sure that they are nice and secure. If there is a resolution problem setting it should display the boot process and then go blank after starting the operating system.
