The ice cubes and water stink. I don't think our refrigerator has a filter either. It is a Kenmore model# 363.9522750

Check to see how your water storage tank looks, it is located in the back wall of fresh food section behind the crispers. It may need to be changed, if it looks clean you may need to install an inline water filter in the supply line to the refrigerator.

Kenmore Coldspot gushes water when changing the filter.

There should be a shut off valve inside where the filter goes. When you remove the filter, it should slam shut.

Low water pressure & ice maker problem

Hi! you don't say how old the refrigerator is, but if it has a water filter, the problem may be that the water filter needs replacement. If there is a water filter, it may be inside the refrigerator side, usually up top towards the back.

If you see a filter, you can buy a replacement at Sears. While your there, check out their water filter subscription. They'll send a water filter to your house on schedule, so you can replace it when needed.

Ice maker won't make ice after changing water filter

Have you tried adding a bit of water to the ice mold? Is their an ice cube stuck in the ice mold? If you have an ice cube stuck in there just heat the im with a hair dryer till the cube clears and fingers go around. Listen to see if you hear water going into the mold.

Dispenser problem

nope. if your ice maker is making ice, then there is no problem with your water filter.

i'm thinking you have a problem with the micro switch that is being triggered when you press the dispenser. or the board where it is attached to choose from water to crushed or cube...

either one of those but definitely not the water filter.

ICE CUBE MAKER SMELLY ICE CUBES

Hello margrek
Welcome,

YOU SAID, YOU HAVE KENMORE ELITE BOTTOM FREEZER WITH ICE MAKER THE ICE CUBES SMELL HORRIBLE ALWAYS, I EVEN TOSS THEM OUT EVERY FEW DAYS, STILL SAME PROBLEM

Ice has bad odor and taste.

1• Ice has picked up odor or
flavor from strong food stored
in refrigerator or freezer.
2• Water running to ice maker
has poor taste or odor.
3• Ice not used frequently enough.
4• Cover foods tightly. Discard stale ice. Ice maker will
produce fresh supply.
5• Add filter to water supply line. Consult a water purifying
company.
7• Discard stale ice.

Bad water & ice cube taste

then change your filter. the new filter could be different with the old filter. check the new filter, see if there is odor removal and taste removal with it.

if not then get the filter with carbon filter, odor and taste removal.

then with a new filter, run about 5 gallons of water before using the water for drinking.

Ice maker quit making ice

your refrig has a built in bypass in the filter housing so yes it will work with out a filter in place. if you have not replaced your filter in the last 6 months that is likely the problem. Hollow cubes are usually a sign of not enough water getting into the icemaker then it cycles too fast and harvests hollow cubes.

when the hollow cubes fall into your bucket they bust and put water in with your cubes freezing them together. so by solving your water supply problem you'll solve most of your icemaking issues..
