I have a baumatic BDW13 dishwasher that comes up with the error code E6. In the manual it says 'open circuit' and 'thermistor'. I previously changed the element because it was discoloured as in blue red. The error code E6 is back and the element is again blue red in two places. Is it the element or something else? Please help

word_answers.gif I had the same problem and changed the two thermostats on the base and got it working. You can get them from partmasters.co.uk (thermostat protector) cost 17.99. They just screw in and are dead easy to fit

SOURCE: error code on my bdw13 dishwasher

Turn off the water and electric!
Its really easy to change the heater element, once you have taken out the dishwasher!, remove the bottom panel and remove the wiring to the element, slacken off the nut under the electrical contacts voila!, also it may be a faulty thermostat that you cannot reset and has to be replaced, I would do this at the same time, as again its easy with the bottom off.

Here is a link to the error codes for your washer. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/213875/Baumatic-Bdw13.html?page=25
Also, another link to an incredible source of info on a whole host of manufacturers' diagnostic routines--your model is on page 19, includes how to enter diagnostic mode, etc. I hope this helps you!

Hi. We have a baumatic bdw13 built in dishwasher, which is showing error code E6 (thermistor fault). Please could you tell me where the thermistor is located a whether it is easy to replace? Thanks

Hello Kristy!

A thermistor is a temperature sensitive resistor that "opens" (opposite of short) when it reaches a certain temperature and is installed to protect electrical equipment down stream. Why not just a fuse?, you may ask. Good question. A thermistor can tolerate a brief current overload that would blow a fuse, allowing continued operation following transient high-current events like motor start up.

While thermistors sometimes simply decide it's time to join their relatives in thermistor heaven, or wherever dead thermistors go, it usually means there is a steady, excessive load (failing motor?) in the circuit requiring attention.

Where yours is located is a mystery but I would guess it's under the machine near the motor. While I have attacked these issues myself, this sounds like a job for the big kids, especially since thermistors seldom just die.

All the best.

Error code E2

Error Code E2 means the pump is blocked. The remedy is to take the filter out which is underneath the bottom dish basket and ensure its is clean and free from debris. Then use a small container to empty the water sitting in the bottom of the machine/filter housing and ensure that no waste is stuck in the bottom. That should clear it

Ok I think I can really help you here.

This is your error code, sounds like it has problems filling, might also be blocked.

‘E1’ LONGER FILL TIME. FAUCET IS NOT OPENED.
Ensure that inlet hose is not
kinked or crushed
.

Found the online manual for this model, it is a PDF file so you will need 'Adobe Reader' to read it. (click on link)

I need to reset my dishwasher but don't know how!!

If it's any help then here is the link to the user manual (when you download it it applies to bdw13 as well even though it is labelled for the bdw14) http://www.baumatic.co.uk/products/discontinued-models/dishwashers/integrateddishwashers/BDW14 Best I could come up with is to try page 19 at the bottom of the "dishwasher doesn't run" section - there are two different types of reset which may do the job. Hope this helps :)
