Technics SL 1600 MK2

I replaced the servo belt under the tonarm and the tonarm does not come anymore to the end of the LP; it plays the LP normally but stops in the middle of the LP and stays there continuing skipping the same track...if I lift the tonarm with my hand and move it towards the centre of the LP from that point it starts skipping, I feel that the ton arm does not move freely anymore, it has a friction somewhere inside that does not let it move normally to the end of the LP. I need some help from sombody who knows this problem.Thank you. Please sned the answer at: [email protected]

Your tonearm is damaged. More than likely the bearings on the tonearm have been damaged. Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this. You'll have to have the tonearm replaced, however, parts for the SL1600MK2 have been discontinued. The tonearm for the SL1200MK2 might fit it, but you will need to do some retro-fitting in order to make it work properly. Something only a qualified service center could perform.

Hope this helps some.

Good luck!

My turntable won't play at 33rpms. tried the pitch adjustment with no success. my turntable is a Technics model#SL-35

First, I'm not a Technics tech.
* Normally I would suggest to check for warranty, but this unit is outdated.
* Try to contact ; https://www.technics.com/us/support/
*** The following is for information only.***
* The following vid shows the speed switch on the left. If it's not tracking then there may be a problem in the selector switch, sync tracking, or motor drive.
* You may want to check the "window" or sensor of the the speed sync light (the orange light). Wipe down the lamp and the peep hole where the sensor is located (on or near the lamp)
* Wipe down the outer edge of the turn table to clean the metal "dots" or "bars" on the rim. This is what the sensor reads to determine speed.
* Speed controls and direct drive turntable are not customer serviced parts (other than replacement of the component).

SL-1200 Turntable: My brand new Technics 1200 MK2 sounds wobbly when ...

Try plugging it into a different power point. The problem is with the power supply fluctuating. You can eliminate that with a UPS, here is a link to wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uninterruptible_power_supply

Technics 1210 MK2 - unstable/uneven speed problem

Since this is a direct-drive turntable, it isn't a slipping or stretched belt. You will need a technician with a couple pieces of equipment and some experience/training to find the source of the problem. I suspect the part(s) will be the minor cost of the repair.

Technics SL-1700 Mk2, tonearm doesn't lower, cueing doesn't work

There's a rubber belt or O ring that broke. I couldn't find one at Technics, so I took the old parts to the hardware store and found an O ring in plumbing parts that was very close. Been working for years just fine!

How do you install the belt in a Technics LP SL-B300

assuming that you have the correct size belt, remove the platter and place the belt onto the platter (bottom side). Replace the platter and using a pencil, grab the belt and place it around the motor hub. The slot in the platter should give you enough room to do this. Dan
