1. Downloaded and registered Quicken Deluxe 2008 but did not receive ID and password info that I have previously done with Quicken. 2. Have done a download from bank on 2 accounts, then downloaded data from Quicken 2005 from my computer. You can't delete a transaction is your program .
Add the transaction back in and then add an opposite transaction to reverse it .
EG
Pay fred blogs for whatever from account XYZ = Debit Fred Blogs in Payment transaction
receive credit from fred blogs to account XYZ = Credit from Fred Blogs in Received Payments to account XYZ - comments paid in error credited back

You cannot do this on the normal account register, as you might have done in earlier versions of Quicken. You have to use two special registers, by creating a BUSINESS BILLS and a CUSTOMER INVOICES register. To do this tap the CREATE NEW ACCOUNT button, in the MY FINANCES screen, and select these registers from the dialogue box. When you receive a payment from a customer, open the CUSTOMER INVOICES register. Then... 1. Tap the TYPE box, and choose INVOICE from the drop down list. This will enter INVC into the box. 2. Look at the button under the BALANCE column. Instead of the usual SPLIT button, this is now labelled FORM. Click on this, and a Customer Invoice Form will appear. Fill in the details from the invoice you have received. Under AMOUNT enter the amount received, less VAT. In the V column, enter the symbol for the appropriate VAT RATE, and Quicken will calculate and enter the VAT amount. 3. When you have completed all the required boxes on the form, click the SAVE AND DONE button, and The form will close. 4. You will see that Quicken has entered the details in the correct Registers. I 5. When you produce your VAT REPORT your item will appear with its details in the correct places. Usually RegKey of previous version isn't removed.

That is mighty old software. In my experience, id guess yes. You have nothing to lose at this point - you have the software and you have the computer ... load it and see if it works. If it works you are home free. If it dont work right, you will know right away at which time you can remove it or upgrade it.

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press <ctrl>+<alt>+<del> keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but we’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:

Remove all previous versions of Quicken. Reinstall your 2008.

Boy oh boy ... I thought I was behind! Is this a current question or a very old one - I cannot tell.

Normally quicken will use the last date you recondiled as the start date.

I guess you dont use the download method of reconciling? If you have WWW access on the computer where your Quiocken resides, your financial institution probably offeres this kind of service. My bank does not charge to have Quicken get the info and reconcile. And I can be as up todate as "yesterday" with this method.
