In order to use progressive scan you must have a progressive scan compatible tv. Check your users manual to find out if its compatible. If it is it should give instructions to turn on the progressive scan option for tv.

Try unplugging the power cord from the wall for at least 24 hours. This should cause the unit to 'forget' the setting for progressive scan, and return to the default interlaced. If this doesn't work, you will need to find a remote to get into the menus to reset this option. Perhaps a universal remote will work? Let us know if this works!
I turned on the dvd player and pressed down on the play button and counted to 10, but before I got to 10 the progressive light went of and the image on my tv set came back on.
Make sure red is matched up to red, green to green, and blue to blue first. Then, try a different set of YPbPr (component) cables if you have a set available. If it still shows up red, then read this:

The solution to the PSCAN! (half screen cut image) is just as suggested, turn off the progressive scan switch in the back of the DVD player to get the full image and enjoy your movie.
Scrolling/black-and-white/"out of tracking" display on a DVD player is generally caused by the DVD player being switched into Progressive Scan mode on a TV not capable of viewing that content. Scan the remote for a button labeled Progressive, I/P, P.Scan, or anything similar. Scan the user manual for information on resetting this also. If the manual and remote come up dry, call Protron and see if there's a key combo you can hold to reset that. Often, holding Play for 5-10 seconds will reset to standard (Interlaced) mode, or holding Stop while turning the unit on. Sometimes, holding Display on the remote for a few seconds will also switch this setting. Good luck.
