Pushed several buttons on the oven and now have a flashing "A" and no action. Unfortunately, when we bought this house with the beautiful new electric Smeg oven and gas cooktop, the seller had not kept any of the manuals - nor had he used the new oven! Kindly help. Caroline

    Just got somebody from Smeg on the phone. Turns out that all you have to do is to push two buttons at once - the ones that look like a pot cooking and the same image with an X through it. You push them both at once and hold for a few seconds and the A disappears and it all works again.



    The guy I spoke to is also going to send me a manual via e-mail.

The manual is not going to help you ,it would only make you feel your not selecting things properly.So,here it is,REPLACE THE CONTROL BOARD  some times called the CLOCK or CONTROL ELECTRIC.

    Nice way to test a tech.It sure would be nice if we could hold a couple of buttons down and get manufacturers to stop and go back  to the basics,who really needs all these options ? 85% of my customers don't even want to know how they work.

    who can I get to replace the control board, clock or control electric in Auckland. My whole display is not working as well as the oven.

Gibson oven door is locked after attempting to do self-cleaning.
Unplug it. Plug it back in, then press n hold start. Make sure lock handle is all the way locked. You may have to push on the door at same time while locking n unlocking. If that doesn't work, shoot it. Ha

I hope you have found already solution for this... Anyway this may help others: press buttons 1 and 2 together and release. Then use jog wheel to adjust time. Wait 5 seconds and you're done. Gorenje manual sucks, no info about oven controls. I managed even to set on oven child lock (key symbol), only way to take it off was to remove fuses from electric board of our house!

Unfortunately I have some very bad news for you. This particular chassis is notorious for developing bad capacitors on the DM and power boards. At this time there are no spares. If you can handle a soldering iron and have lots of patience I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r7065906-mitsubishi_turn_flashing_power_timer which explains the problem and where to get the parts.

Flash/sparks occrred (no metal in oven)
You know I just had a similar problem on my old unit. There was a spark and my bowl had no metal rims. I figger your ground connection has corroded at the rivets. So if you can drill a 1/8 inch hole in there and install a #8 sheet mtal screw or two to bond it togeter again.
