Can A 4GB Micro Memory Card Work In A Samsung M510?

Hi from New Zealand!

I bought a 4GB memory card thinking bigger is better, however I'm now stuck with it unless anyone can offer a solution in helping me to get it to work in my Samsung M510.

Cheers,
Steve

Maximum SD memory card size is 2GB. High Capacity cards (4GB+ marked as SDHC) are NOT compatible with 'older' devices.

Cannot format sd card

You are probably trying to format a micro-SD card that is greater than 2GB eg, micro-SDHC (High Capacity) of 4GB or bigger are not supported by 'older' devices. Stick to 1Gb or 2Gb standard microSD cards for your device.

Hope it helps. Let me know how you go.

Cannot install 4GB card into TL220. Do I have the

According to Samsung's page on this camera, the following memory can be used:

External Memory(Optional) : Micro SD (up to 4GB)
Micro SDHC (up to 8GB)

4 GB is acceptable, but I think you do not have the correct type of card. You should be using a Micro SD or "Micro Secure Digital" (up to 4GB capacity) or a Micro SDHC or "Micro Secure Digital High Capacity" (up to 8 GB capacity) card. This is very different from an SD or SDHC card. These Micro cards are very small (smaller than your thumbnail) and are often packaged with an SD adapter card. Regardless if sold with or with out the adapter, the package should say Micro SD or Micro SDHC on it somewhere.

I ve bought a new meory micro sd 4Gb card for my

Be careful, if you use the USB cord to plug the phone up make sure that your not formatting the entire phone.

Did the Micro SD card come with the bigger card to plug it into making it a standard size SD card ? If so then you can plug that into a card reader if you have one go into MY Computer, and right click on the drive of the SD card click format.

Those are the only other ways of solving said problem if you can't do so on the phone itself. Also the phone may not accept a memory card of such size.

My samsung E250 mobile will not accept my memory card

You should check your manual most probably your phone cannot work with SDHC micro SD card. The only thing you can do is buy a 2GB micro sd card.

Memory Card Problems

According to the samsung website " Samsung camcorders manufactured in 2004 and later can be used with memory sticks up to 1GB. Anything over 1GB is not guaranteed to work. "

I have the same problem. Video works fine on my 256MB card but not on my 4GB or 8GB cards. It would be nice to know if anyone has success with a particular card >1GB.
