Projector turns on but doesnt lite goes straight to cooling fan

    I have the same issue, when it first came up I shipped it back to sanyo and they replaced the Ballast ($300 later) and now again I am ahving the same problem and am looking for the ballast part so I can repalce it myself and save soem cash...

Hi Mykoolg

Take out the lamp and check for any discolouration , vein like looking markings in either white or black on the lamp itself.

I'm sure you'll find the lamp to be the problem here.

Why is my sanyo plv wf20 projector shutting down after I turn it on.
The fan may be out that keeps the bulb cool. The shutdown is to protect the lamp from overheating. Do you have any flashing indicator lights on the projector after turning it on?

Sanyo PLC XU50 Projector turns on and works for a few seconds then the fan comes on at a higher speed and the projector goes to stand by. Any ideas?
The cooling channel is likely clogged by lint and dust. We usually suggest annual cleaning and maintenance to avoid these kinds of issues. It is also possible that the fans have failed. Loud fan sanyo xm150
You may need to replace the cooling fan. Sometimes the fan will turn but not as fast as it should, causing over heat on the unit.

Sanyo pcl-xu50 flashing red power light when i turn on my projector the light goes green it powers up for about 20 seconds then the power light changes to a red flashing one for about 10 seconds then back...
Projectors shut off when they overheat. They overheat when air does not move through the projector cooling it. This happens when the fans are not working or air filters/vents are not working.
Check to see whether the fans are working. If they are working, open the cover and see whether air filters/vents are covered with dust. If so clean them.

Check the cooling fans. If they are not rotating the Projector will not start.
Did the lamp explode? If it did a bit of glass has lodged in the cooling fan and stopped it from working.

After five minutes of working properly, the Cine1000 projector goes dark and the ready lite goes out. The power lite stays lit. The lamp has 881 hours. I checked the menu and auto power selection is off....
The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work
get a small fan and place it near the projector to provide
extra cooling. The projector is running border line on
high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

The lamp reset...should only be used when you replace
the lamp..with a new one...The reset will start the clock
running on the number of hours the new bulb has used..

Lamp goes out after 10-15 seconds
Recently had a similar issue.
When I took the lamp out (Let it cool for awhile first), there was dust all over one side preventing air from the fans from cooling the lamp, so it shut itself off after getting too hot.

Toshiba TDP SC25 projector
The manual says it might be because the power went out when it was on. Just a note here, as projectors age they become more sensitive to power outages. When not in use turn off completely if you can. They have an on/off button.

Otherwise not sure but think you may need to replace the fan. Try cleaning it first but gently.

Sanyo plv70 multimedia projector has yellow rectangle in centre
Either its dust on the mirrors, if so u need to clean then, there are 3 mirrors inside. Or one of the mirrors is bad, then u need to buy a new one. I would recomend you to NOT do that yourself, leave it to someone who knows how to to that.
