Did you check the energy saving settings for the monitor
The display settings in control panel should have a tab
for screen saver that also has settings for the monitor
power saver setting. If there is a setting for Digital Power Saving mode adjust it or disable it.
If this does not solve the problem then you may have to
disable APM in the bios setup

These are just suggestions, not sure if it will fix your problem (not listed in any order but only do one at a time)
1. Change BIOS battery (reset BIOS)
2. Clean out machine (dust, reseat cables, cords etc...)
3. Try removing the power cord from the monitor, hold the power on button for ten seconds then put the power cord back on
4. Try reseating the video card.

this only happens when computer is on standby or there is no activity by a human like movement of mouse. it is a built-in energy saving formula on all such monitors
