I have a SGS53E72AU and it isn't draining away. I have cleaned the filters, checked to see that the pump isn't blocked by removing the cover and also checked for kinked hose. It is 2 and a half years old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks Sally

First of all you must set the machine to a soft/quick wash and let the cycle run. During the process of the program check the voltage on the pump during the drain cycle. It is important that the controller unit supplies voltage to the pump. If power is presetn without a drain,it is evident that the pump is faulty. You must remove , set it up on desk to trail with external votage, clean or backflush , if not the pump must be changed unless a fulloverhauling is not sucessfull.
If there is no power to the drain pump, then it is the fault off the program controller unit. You will need to check on the controller for the absence of the power, fault in contacts, fault in the drive. Must use a good multimetter to trace the path of the triggered supply voltage to the pump. make sure that the voltage is not cut off in the wires to the drain-- possible line break.
Please go through these tips and check out. You have to do the voltage checks but have caution when checking all power points.

My bosch dishwasher does not drain the water away, left sitiing in bottom

Hi,

It could either be the filter (most likely), the drain pump (likely) or the drain hose/tube (least likely).

Normally, there would a filter somewhere at the bottom of your washing machine with the primary function of keeping loose clothing, torn fabric, lint, fluff and foreign objects away from the impeller/pump. Most current washing machine have self-cleaning filters and therefore regular cleaning is no longer a concern. However, some other washing machine need to have the filter manually removed and cleaned regularly or as even in your case. If the filter or grate is clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal functioning of your washing machine and may cause the problem as you have described; water doesn't leave the tub.

To check the filter and/or the drain pump, the bottom has to be exposed, the filter/pump located and cleaned. In some instances, the drain could be a valve operated by a solenoid.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Whirlpool Washing Machine won't drain after pump is cleaned and there are no blockages

see the causes and remedies:God bless you

Drain Pump Filter
This is the most common problem. Some have a small cover in the lower front put a screwdriver in the hole and turn counterclockwise to remove. There will be a cover to remove, water will come out so be prepared with a towel or wet vac. Clean this out. Other Machines will need to access the drain pump to get to the filter. This can be done by removing the back panel on some washers. On others you will need to remove the lower panel or complete front panel depending on model. The filter is located inside the large hose from the tub to the pump. Remove the hose and clean filter.

Drain Pump
The drain pump may have failed. If you hear it making noises you will need to remove the drain pump and check for obstructions, broken impeller, or not spinning freely. Remove obstructions if it does not spin freely replace the drain pump. If you hear it hum replace the pump if nothing is found inside. If no noise is heard check the pump for power. To do this remove the wire connectors and connect a voltmeter turn to a drain cycle, refer to tech sheet or service manual for proper voltage reading, usually any voltage would probally indicate a faulty pump. If no voltage to the pump replace the main control board.

Hoses
Check the hoses from the pump by disconnecting them and make sure there are no obstructions. Check your hoes drain, if it is a slow drain this can cause your washer to not properly drain.

My dishwasher isn't draining after it's cycles.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

My candy alise 1000es will not drain water away nor will it take soap powder from the main dispenser compartment or the conditioner, it also leaks and makes loud noises. i've looked for a filter to...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I hope some of this will at least start to help with your many problems! Most I have pre-typed as I cannot type that fast and they are common/ non-manufacturer specific problems;-0)

Filter
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

Soap and conditioner problems
(again pre-typed)
I hope you don't mind me saying so but often the softener dispensing siphon tube gets missed when cleaning the dispenser 'cos it's difficult to see!----------->
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.

If this isn't the problem it could be that the water dispensing is not working correctly. It is easy to check by selecting each cycle in turn, pulling the drawer slightly out and seeing and hearing whether water is being fed into the appropriate tray. If is isn't then it is a call-out ;-0(

Repost about the leaks and making loud noises, please, after going through the above.

If these have assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

The clean pump light comes on at the front of the machine and stops the wash cycle what do I need to do?

You need to clear out the drain pump. if you should be able to access the pump from the front bottom by unscrewing and removing the filter. If not then you will need to tilt the machine back as far as you can so you can access the underneath. You will see the small drain pump. Have a basin ready to catch any water that comes out when remove the pump which is only held in by 1 or 2 screws and twisted out or pulled out. If it is clear then try removing the pipe that goes from the pump to the base of the tub. Hope this helps
