Hi there! In order to be able to provide the definite codes that will allow you to program your remote to your Magnavox Blue Ray DVD player, I would need the type of remote that you have- this can be found on the back of your remote, it would be displayed as something along the lines of 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, etc. To obtain a few codes that will likely allow you to successfully program the remote I used 5.0 because it is a common remote that is used with quite a few of our DISH Network receivers. The codes you can try for your DVD player would be, 829 (most successful) if not then please try the following, 685, 533, 554, or 556. After trying those codes if your attempts are still unsuccessful you can also check the manual that came with the DVD player from the manufacturer or just contact us here at DISH Network - although I do know sometimes the remote codes can be located in the manual. I need the remote code can't find it i have a dish network universal any help would be appreciated.
We would be happy to help you with that. Here is a list ofcodes that should address your DISH Network remote to your Philips Magnavox DVD Recorder: 801, 766, 556, and 585.

Press and hold the DVD/VCR button located on the top of the remote until allthe mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. Use thenumber buttons to enter one of the codes for your Philips Magnavox DVD Recorder, then pressthe pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the modelight flashes three times.To check that the code works try several different functions on the remote tomake sure it will properly operate your Philips Magnavox DVD Recorder. Keep in mind that somecodes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, try the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment. I need the programming codes for a Magnovox DVD player. I have a dish network remote. I've searched dozens of sites with no results. =(

I saw your post. Are you still having problems programming your DISH remote to the Magnavox DVD player? Some of the codes are different for the different remote models. I have supply some codes for you. The codes are 829, 685, 533, 554, or 556. The instructions are also included below. I hope this helps.

Address To Other Equipment Using Code
  • Remotes: Multiple Mode Buttons (TV,VCR, AUX)
    1. Press and hold the desired Mode button until all mode button backlights come on, then release.
    2. Use the number buttons to enter the device code corresponding to the equipment. AUX Mode: Before entering the device code:
      • Press 0 for a TV
      • Press 1 for a VCR/DVD
      • Press 2 for any other device.
    3. Press the pound (#) button Note: The light will blink off after each digit is entered and then return to a steady light.
    4. Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

Such a code may or may not exist. If none of the codes listed in your owners manual work (you didn't list a model number so I can't give you specifics)you have 3 options. 1) Contact DishNetwork and see if they have additional codes not listed in the manual. 2) Contact Magnavox and see if the have additional codes to try. 3) Purchase a 3rd party remote that works with both devices.

Dish Pro record code for Mag combo
ZNREL, I've done this with Dish Pro before. Setup the Dish remote to control the Mag combo in the VCR position. Press the SAT button and select the guide. Go to the program in the guide and select it. The "record this program" routine should pop up, set it up. Here's the key, make sure the Dish remote has the VCR button selected and that the remote is placed where it can "see" the Mag combo. At the set time, the Dish remote will change the DishPro to the proper channel and then issue s "record" command via infrared to the Mag combo to start recording. DishNet has all of the device codes to their remotes downloadable from their site.
