No sound is coming out of speakers, but sound drivers are installed

Hello,

It could be that the speaker is not connected properly or it has gone bad. It could also be an outdated sound driver. It's better than you update the sound driver before fixing the hardware part of it. You can use RadarSync to auto-detect the updates and you can use the same software to automatically update them without you downloading anything or something like that from the manufacturer's website.

My mms 5650 speakers are for whatever reason not being recognized by my Dell Dimension 8400. I've already made sure my audio drivers are up to date and there are no drivers for these speakers. There is...

Be sure that you have not "muted" your computer's audio-output.

Open the audio "mixer", and check that the "line-out" mix has not been pulled-down to a 'zero' level.

Try the speakers in some other (desktop or laptop) computer.

Try different speakers in your computer.

Check that you're plugging-in to the (green-coloured) "line-out" socket on your audio-adapter (not the blue-coloured "line-in" nor the pink "microphone-in" sockets).

There _are_ limits to what the "Plug-and-Play" features of Windows will detect. Generally, speakers are *NOT* listed within Device Manager.

Try switching from '5.1' to '2-channel-stereo', just to test it.

Speakers stopped working

Hello there!
It sound a power adapter failure,
check your speakers for power failure, or bad connections,
check also your sound card, mixer, and drivers.
perhaps if a onboard sound is disable for some reason.
check that too.
Good Luck
