The clock must be perfectly level - check that with a spirit level. If you don't have one then a wire with a weight attached should do.
When you swing the pendulum for the first time try to swing it at it's normal movement angle, if it's too high or too low the mechanism will not be able to sync with the quartz and the clock will not work.

take the batteries back out and leave them out for at least 2 minutes. next put the batteries back in and put the clock near a wall or window so that the back of the clock faces colorado (where the WMV transmitter is),. It will most likely take all night for it to set properly, just after you put in the battery make sure that you have set your time zone on the back of the clock and if there is DST button press that too. just be patient, it will set itself. worse comes to worse you can set it by hand, but kind of defeats the purpose of having an "atomic clock". by the way the reason they call it "atomic" is becausee WMV's clock is tracking the decay of the Seisum atom, or some such bs.

After replacing the transmitter batteries several times, I tried replacing the clock batteries. They must have been getting low. Once I put in new batteries in the clock it worked fine. Good Luck.

Elgine Battery Wall Clock

When you removed the battery, were the terminals corroded? If so, clean the terminals on the clock to remove any corrosion.

When you removed the battery , was it difficult to remove? Sometimes during removal of the battery the wires that connect to the termimals will break or come free. If you can see the wires that are supposed to connect to the terminals, make sure they are making good contact and that they too are not corroded.

Good Luck.
