Do you mean you cannot play the videos in Windows media Player? If yes then all you need is a Codec pack. You can download the k-lite mega codec pack which includes media player classic that you can use to play the files.

If problem persists then let me know the extension of the video files so that I can suggest an appropriate solution.

I cannot open it with windows movie maker i use xp and won't work. It say's "it is not a valid windows movie maker project"

windows movie maker doesn't recognize mpeg 4 files. you need to use the software that came with your camcorder, or you might try downloading another player by doing a search for mpeg 4 editing programs. one other option is Media Converter (also media converter pro) there you can convert the files to avi or wmv that win movie maker can use.

Trying to load my movies into Windows Movie Maker but it doesn't recognize the .MOD for which my movies are backup in...how do you change the setting to allow Windows Movie Maker to see them?- Guest

please go to the following website to get the software which in turn converts your .mod files to .wma(windows media player) file. and then your movie maker will be able to recognize those files.

Jvc power cinema NE for everio digital video camera, no sound on dvds??

Hi,

I had a similar problem, I could play videos on my PC but they had no sounds.
I found a solution

In theory *.Mod Files contains mpeg format for the video and AC3 format for the sound.

In my case I was missing the codec fot AC3 format.

I downloaded one here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ac3_filter.htm

And it worked

Uploading problem

So after a little digging around I might have a solution for you. Use this program (Super) to convert your files into Windows Media Video (.wmv) files and Movie Maker should be able to handle them.
