How do I access my messages when I am out of town. I have a Panasonic DECT 6.0 Thank you. ginny

Call your phone while you're away, and when your message starts to play enter your remote code. After that, you use the keypad on the phone to control message playback, record a new greeting, etc.

"DECT 6.0" is a generic term for the cordless phone technology, and not your phone model number. You'd find that on a label on the back or bottom of the base unit. Without a specific model I can't look for a manual and give details, but if you have the model listed you can download the manual from Panasonic here. It gives all the steps to set up your remote code and the commands to use. If you have a different model phone you can look for your manual at Panasonic's support page.

For the model listed above, the default remote code is 111. The list of remote commands is

Key Remote command
{1} Repeat message
(during playback)*1
{2} Skip message (during
playback)
{4} Play new messages
{5} Play all messages
{6} Play greeting message
{7} Record greeting
message
{9} Stop recording
Stop playback*2
Start voice guidance*3
{0} Turn answering system
off
{*}{4} Erase message
currently playing
{*}{5} Erase all messages
{*}{6} Erase greeting
message (during
greeting message
playback)
{*}{#} End remote operation
(or hang up)

Maybe this list works for your phone too.
tip

I am not able to get messages recorded on my GE phone (model 27851GE1-B)....

Bought GE phone, 2 years later, will not record. My Tip is buy from a reputable company like one in Japan, big US corporations are in it for the stock and most products do not last, or require a expensive warranty. GE does not bring good things to life... but that is just a personal opinion.

I lost manual. I need to know change message when will be out of town answering message.

Hi,
Recording a Personal Greeting
Your answering system comes with a pre-recorded outgoing message or greeting that plays when you receive a
call: "Hello, no one is available to take your call. Please leave a message after the tone." You can record your own
personal outgoing greeting. Your recorded greeting must be between two seconds and thirty seconds long.
Press /mute. The system announces the number of new and old messages, then starts to play the
messages unless it has no messages.
Press 5 to stop the announcements or message playback. You will hear intermittent beeps indicating that the
system is in the command waiting mode.
Press 8 to start the recording. The system announces, "Record greeting." Begin recording after the
announcement.
When you finish recording, press 8 again or press 5. You will hear a confirmation tone, and your recorded
greeting plays back for you.

Selecting a Greeting
Once you have recorded a personal greeting, the phone automatically switches to your personal greeting. You can
also switch back and forth between the pre-recorded greeting and your own greeting at any time.
Press /mute. The system announces the number of new and old messages, then starts to play the
messages unless it has no messages.
Press 5 to stop the announcements or message playback. You will hear intermittent beeps indicating that the
system is in the command waiting mode.
Press 6. The system plays the current greeting.

To keep this greeting: Do nothing..

To switch to the other greeting: Press 6 while the system is playing the current greeting.
Each time you press 6, the system switches between the pre-recorded and the personal greeting. The last
greeting you hear is used as the current greeting.

Deleting Your Personal Greeting
You can delete your personal greeting from the base. You cannot delete the pre-recorded greeting.
Press /mute. The system announces the number of new and old messages, then starts to play the
messages unless it has no messages.
Press 5 to stop the announcements or message playback. You will hear intermittent beeps indicating that the
system is in the command waiting mode.
Press 6. The system plays the current greeting. Switch to your personal greeting if necessary. (See the previous
section to switch the greeting.)
While the personal greeting is playing, press 4.
The system announces "Greeting has been deleted," and switches back to the pre-recorded greeting.

Greeting was somehow erased

Hi Sherrie, I am sorry to hear about your husband, I will do what I can to help. I am fairly confident on that model that if you push the greeting button, then delete it will erase the message for good. Also, if the memory power failed, then it would reset to the default greeting and erase all messages and greetings. However, if the unit has options for multiple greetings (ie. default greeting, greeting 1, greeting 2, etc., then perhaps the default greeting may have been selected, while your husbands greeting is still there but is recorded under say greeting number 1. If that is the case, you can select it to play his greeting instead of the default greeting to have it play. I would find out for you but my computer is having trouble opening the manual on the Panasonic site, so here is the link. Look under "greetings" in the index. Hope I helped. Thanks, CG http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTM150B.PDF
