My Aquasmart WL80T65D washing machine, stopped during a spin cycle and started beeping every second with a red spanner light flashing. I followed the manuals instructions to turn the machine off for a minute and take the clothes out etc but no luck and now when I put it on wash it does not fill and if I put it on rinse or spin it sounds like it is trying to go but it can't pick speed up?? I just copied this because I have exactly the same problem. Each time I attempt to start a load now the spanner flashes along with lights 3, 4 and 8 (delicates, sheets, high efficiency). Appreciate any assistance you can give.

Hi just read your fault. Now from the information in your posting the lights that are on when the machine is beeping are the 3,4 and 8th lights. Now these lights are in a row of 8 lights and you started from the left.So from left to right the lights that are lit when the machine is beeping are 3,4,and 8.Is this correct? If it is correct then the fault on your machine is called COLD VALVE FAULT.The 3 reasons why this fault occurs is, 1st the wiring to the water valves is faulty, the 2nd is the cold water valve is faulty, or 3rd the control module is faulty.Have you or can you borrow an electrical test meter so I can help you narrow down which is causing the fault. Please reply with additional information on the questions and I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.

    Thanks for the reply.

It is definitely the 3, 4, and 8 lights which are on.

I don't have my own multimeter but i should be able to get one from work tomorrow and can carry out some tests after that.

    Thanks.

Hi just read your last posting. Please reply when you have the multimeter and I can guide you throe the steps on testing the machine.Looking forward to your reply.

I'm ready to go so if you could give me a few places to check and the expected readings I can go from there.

    Thanks

Hi just read your posting.1st remove the 2 screws holding the top panel and gently lift the top panel away from the machine as the display board wiring is still attached.Put the panel on the lid.Now you should see to the right of the brown module the water valves.Have you got 5 coils or 2 coils? There will be a coil that is open circuit. Please reply on the number of coils you have and then we will go to the stage of testing them.Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.Looking forward to your reply.

  • bgrossi21 Oct 07, 2010

OK. Took the panel off and found I have the brown module and 4 coils .... 2 Directly at the hot and cold inputs and 2 more behind them.

  • bgrossi21 Oct 07, 2010

Disconnected the inputs to each coil and measured the resistance to each and they were all the same .. around 58 ohms ...

Hi just read your last posting.Sorry it has taken a little while to get back to you but my computer was down again. Now if you measured all the coils and they were all at 58 ohms then as I mentioned in my 2nd posting the fault is more likely your control module. How do the wires to the coils like? Are they damaged? Can your local FISHER@PAYKEL dealer suggest anyone in your area that can test the control module for you. Do you live in Australia? If you do then there is a couple of places that will test and repair the module for you.And if there is nothing wrong with the module it does not cost much to test it.Then you will know if the module is the faulty component. Please reply if you would like the phone numbers of the places in Australia. What city are you in?Please reply with additional information and I will be looking out for your posting.

Washing machine filled with water but wont start, the spanner, delicates sheets and high efficiency lights come on after about 30 seconds, what could i look for

Fisher& Paykel have a lot of controls. But if it's filled with water and the lights are on, you have power to the unit. Try unplugging it, waif 5 min. Power it up advance the setting to drain/ spin setting with the door closed and try it again. What do you mean the spanner ?

That is fault code 49,
But in AquaSmart machines the pump has shorted mosfets on the board and caused this to blow the fuse that controls the water valves.
49. (00110001) Cold Valve or Cold Valve & Hot Valve Faulty
The Motor Control Module has measured a voltage from the valve diagnostic circuit that
indicates the cold valve or both the cold and hot valve is faulty. The most likely cause is
that the valve harness has not been connected correctly or the valve(s) is open circuit.
Primary Source: Wiring.
Action: Check the valve harnesses are correctly fastened to the valves and
the motor control module or the pins are not bent backwards.
Secondary Source: Water Valves.
Action: Measure the resistance of the cold and hot valve coils.
Tertiary Source: Motor Control module.
Action: Replace the Motor Control module.

Pride 5.5 washing machine. Our washing machine stopped (during one of the wash cycles I think) and started to give a single beep every second and all the wash lights were illuminated.

Hi just read your posting. Can you advance the machine to a spin cycle?Or are all the controls frozen?Try advancing the machine to a spin cycle and push start then reply back and let me know what the machine does.Looking forward to your reply.Sounds like a lid switch fault.
