I have a emachines T5274 with vista home Premium.... and when i turn in on the Emachines logo pops up BUT stay up for a long time around 1-2 mins and it use to be around 4 secs!! then it goes into the windows splash screen fine i am woundering why it takes so long on the emachines splash screen????

If you can see the windows logo screen both your computer and monitor is working, possible problem could be that the display settings are set to high that your monitor is unable to handle it. Restart computer and keep tapping F8 key. This will take you to the advanced options menu In the list of options here choose enable low resolution mode and hit enter (you can only use your keyboard to choose - use the up / down arrow key) once you enter windows low res mode change it to 800 X 600 and restart the computer Once you are in the right mode now change the display settings accordingly.
