Is this issue with an IR (infrared) remote which is generally for "tv 1," or is it a UHF remote which is used commonly used for, "TV 2?" It sounds as though there may possibly be something interfering with the remote signal & strangely around the same time everyday! IR remote signal interference can be caused by other electronics that may be running & within close proximity of your DISH Network receiver. A way to determine if this is in fact the issue would be to power everything off but leave the receiver & your TV powered on. You would then proceed by powering one component on at a time, & then test a remote function after each component has successfully been turned on. Hopefully this process will help you when trying to determine if it is in fact a component that is causing interference and as a result the remote appears to stop working around 7pm. We had a new receiver installed sunday and that nite at 7:30 my remote quits working.I called in and a tec walked me thru the fix and the next nite the same thing happened.that happened for 4 nites.Works...

My dish network duel feed remote will quit working the dish reciever after about 15 miniutes or so,however it will still turn tv on and and off. if I shut the reciever down for a while it may or may not...
Hi pappy63my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and there are some steps that will getyour DISH Network remote to change the satellite channels. The first thing youwill need to do is press the System Info button on the receiver or pull out thesmart card from the receiver, with the remote press and release the SAT buttonand press the Record button and you will see the number in the white boxchange. My Dish Network remote control has quit working. I have fresh batteries and when I push on the SAT and TV buttons, they do not light up. 5.0 IR. 118575.

If you have already replaced the batteries in your remote and still the SAT and TV buttons are not lighting up it sounds like you may need a new remote. You can try holding down either the SAT or the TV button for about 10 seconds to see if this will get either of them to light up. If that does not work you will need a new remote. You can either call into DISH Network at 1-800-333-3474 or you can email me with your account information (i.e. account number or phone number and name on the account) and I would be happy to get a remote sent out to you. I have Dish Network and the first remote quit,so they sent me a new one. I can't adjust the volume so I need a list of codes. I can't see the model # on the tv because of the wall mount.

Hi there! In order to be able to provide the definite codes that will allow you to program your remote to your Magnavox Blue Ray DVD player, I would need the type of remote that you have- this can be found on the back of your remote, it would be displayed as something along the lines of 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, etc. To obtain a few codes that will likely allow you to successfully program the remote I used 5.0 because it is a common remote that is used with quite a few of our DISH Network receivers. The codes you can try for your DVD player would be, 829 (most successful) if not then please try the following, 685, 533, 554, or 556. After trying those codes if your attempts are still unsuccessful you can also check the manual that came with the DVD player from the manufacturer or just contact us here at DISH Network - although I do know sometimes the remote codes can be located in the manual. Hope the codes help & work for you!

Hmm, don't quite understand here.... so you do not have directv, but instead have dish? And you are trying to use the remote from the Dish box to control the TV correct?

Hello massce. My name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. I see that you are experiencing issues with your remote during a certain time (7pm-10pm). Seems like there is something that is interfering with the signal that the remote is sending to the receiver, what could be causing this issue could be, backlighting or power save mode on LCD TV's, fluorescent lighting in room, or direct sunlight. You can go through an elimination process by turning on your TV and the DISH receiver then slowly turning on other components in the room. If there is a component in the room that makes the remote stop working that would be the cause of the issue. If the component can't be found an upgrade to UHF remote may help remedy the issue so it doesn't continue.

i would suggest trying power scan again...

1)hold down tv button next to sat button in top left corner
2) when all buttons illuminate press 500 into remote
3)press pound sign
4)Hello, please help..
5)hold town tv button again.
6)when all buttons illuminate press big red power button
7)press up arrow once a second until tv shuts off
8)press # pound sign
9)try to turn tv back on w/ big red power button
10)if tv doesnt turn back on try again from step 2 but use down arrow instead

if this doesnt work try addressing your old remote to the receiver by pressing record from system info screen
