This could happen often when a phone was accidentally drop or fell or
there's is something being installed in the phone system that is being
corrupted. To solve this kind of problem is to deep reset all the
settings of the phone. It will clear or delete the files inside. Be
sure to back-up all the important files in your phone like contacts. To
do this just simply dial this number in your phone, *#7370# or *#7780#
and it will show a message like "Restore all original settings" and
phone will restart. Press okay and then enter this code 12345 which is
the default. The phone will restart and reset the phone to the original
settings.

There is simply no use of resetting the phone. The problem is with your phone's display! Do you remember dropping it down..?! this might be the result of that... Anyway.. There is nothing which we can do other than visiting the nearest Nokia Care center. The service personnel will surely help out.
You will need to assign a different ip address to the modem - Iam assuming that both the router & modem are using the same ipaddress 192.168.1.1? If that is the case, then assign 192.168.1.2 tothe modem.
connect your phone to the computer and choose com port. install the drivers. you also need to install the usb modem driver. then set up new dial-up connection with this modem, no user name or password and the number to dial is *99#
