How do i unlock door with a clothes hanger - 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier

Find a metal clothes hanger and straighten it out use a small door stop as a wedge between the door and the roof and then use the hanger to depress the unlock. Disclaimer you might scratch the paint or tear the rubber gasket around the door. Or call a tow company and they can get it unlocked as well

Try Unlocking the drivers door with the key.

Just see if this works
Is your lock seized up and if it is squirt some WD40 into the lock and see if that works, Also if you can get the spray nozzle up under the lock latch area and squirt up in there as well Just might work but am not sure
Can you get a clothes hanger to unlock the other door if so you maybe can get in that way as well. You some times can use a clothes hanger up through the edge of the glass.

clothes hanger should get you to the door handle.
It will unlock when you pull it.

i had same problem with a mitsubishi fto , tried the coat hanger thing got the passengers door unlocked but it still wouldnt open, rang the automobile association, he came along and did the same as i did to passengers door , to the drivers door and presto he was in,so maybe the drivers door has the master control, or ring a dealer for that make and model they might be able to put you on the right path.

most of the time your local police department will unlock your door for free if not you could use a clothes hanger but if the cops will do it for free take advantage of it thats what your taxes pay for

use a plastic wedge, and seperate the door away from the jam to crfeate enuff space so you can get a heavy duty hanger through the space created. once you have that space, use the heavy duty (wire) hanger to reach in, and press the unlock button. screwdrivers can be used in place of the plastic wedge, but wrap them in a cloth so you dont chip the paint.

You really don't have any other options then to call a locksmith or find someone who owns a slim jim and open it that way.A slim jim is what most police departments use to open car doors.That might be something you want to try call your local police department they might even help you out.

You can call a tow company and ask them if there equipped in to getting in to a car with key;s locked in. Most of them are and the next thing would be the lock smith. Good luck and keep me posted.
