Chkdsk is a disc check utility. You only need to run it if the file system becomes corrupt or damaged. Reason being improper shutdown or a virus.
If Windows is shutdown improperly, some files are not written to harddisk and get erased inside the RAM. A proper shutdown is necessary for system integrity, so next time Windows checks the disc and repairs any errors remaining and deletes unwanted temporary files from previous shutdown.
If chkdisk appears frequently, it could that the file system is damaged and cannot be repaired or the harddisk is physically damaged. If it is so then its a good idea to backup your files and format the drive. This will renew the partition table and, if the disc is not damaged, restore normal operation.
Chkdsk it is command for harddrive disk checking this command run on command prompt. This command is used for recover and fix errors on harddrive. When your computer's harddrive ahs bad sectors or any error it run slow and shutdown or restart suddenely. You can fix this problem with "chkdsk" go to start menu->command prompt then type ni prompt "chkdsk /r" without "" then it ask for press "y" press "y" then restart computer then when it start it will fix and recover errors on harddrive.
