Forgot Your Windows Password?
Many people think that after having lost their Windows admin password, the only way for them is reinstall their OS. Of course, They are wrong! Here I'm expounding a few methods which can be used to recover Windows password:
Method 1:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. you know? When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forgotten your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ++ keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
Method 2:
There are many 3rd party utilities which claim to recover forgotten Windows password:
Windows Password Recovery 6.0 is a powerful Windows Password Recovery that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten password. Simply boot your PC from the supplied Boot CD, and get access to forgotten Windows and administrator passwords in just seconds. Their method is so much faster/easier, and works great!

If you forgot the password of your PC then the better option is to reset the BIOS rather then formatting your hard drive .Formatting your hard drive causes a little damage to it so try to reset the password.

If you forgot your password then don't worry you can log on without it. Things you need to do is just open the cabinet and look for the BIOS battery. (It looks like a round cell)

I do not remember the password to log on to my - 7350d9c.jpg

Take it out for 2 to 3 minutes and again put it in its place.
Start your PC it will not ask for the pass word.

And if you want to format your hard drive then remember to take the necessary back up of the data .

Thanks.

Reset password on emachine 355

If you have forgotten your password if you have another user account with administrative privileges you can log into that account and change your original user accounts password from the User Accounts applet in Control Panel.

If you dont have another account like this set up or dont have the password to it you will need to log into the built-in Administrator account.

In XP Home boot the computer into Safe Mode.

Do this by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up.

This will get you to the right menu

Navigate using your Up arrow key the mouse will not work here

Once in Safe Mode you will see the normally hidden Administrator account

The default password is a blank

In XP Pro you do not need to go into Safe Mode

At the Welcome Screen do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box.

Type in "Administrator" and whatever password you assigned when you set up Windows.

If you reset the built-in Administrator accounts password in Home or have Pro and dont remember the password there are ways to change the password for that account to a blank

hope this helps

I can't boot my computer cause i forgot my password

I suggest you try hard to remember your windows password, otherwise you have to reset it or reinstall Windows. I do not recommend you to reinstall Windows, which may lead a data loss. So if you really can not remember the password, try Windows Password Seeker http://www.passwordseeker.com

My laptop has a password and i typed in the password that it should bet yet it isnt working, as soon as i turn the computer on it comes to a screen saying enter passowrd. My laptop is an acer travelmate...

Is this computer a member of a domain or just local?
If a domain member, contact your administrator to reset the password for you.

If local (or in a workgroup)
Log in as a local administrator, then you may be able to reset your password.

When logging in, type, Administrator as the user name and type in your password (if you remember). Try password as blank first if you haven't set a password. Default password is usually 12345

Once logged in:

Click Start, right-click My Computer, select Manage.
Under Computer Management --> Expand System Tools --> Local Users and Groups, the select Users folder.

Locate your user name on the right pane, right-click on your username, then select Set Password. Change your password.

Pls let me know if this solution worked for you.

Logging in

Restart your computer. Upon seeing the boot screen press F8 sometimes more than once. You will get an option window of which you chose "Safe Mode" you will get to the log in screen. Select administrator. Select "Yes" to the window that pops up. Move all the files in your my documents folder under c:\Documents and settings\HP Owner\My Documents. If you don't your stuff will be deleted. Move it to a different folder like c:\Backup.
Then go into user profiles in control panel and select HP Owner then change password. Then reboot and you will be good.
