My remote for a Bose Wave Radio does not work any more. It just stopped one day. I replaced the battery and have made sure that the battery is properly installed (positive side up). I have unplugged and plugged the unit back up but I can not get the unit to respond. The clock still works so power is reaching the unit. Any ideas on a fix? Can I buy a new remote if that is the issue?

Over time my remote started to fail, and would sometimes work and sometimes not. I found that the problem was with the very thin plastic case failing to keep the coin battery in contact with the flat square battery contact inside the remote. I found it by placing the remote in one hand and squeezing the upper and lower surfaces of the plastic case with the thumb & index finger directly above and below the point where the battery was located inside the remote. While applying pressure as described, I was able to operate the remote with the other hand and everything worked fine. I ended up placing a small round piece of thin packaging cardboard on top of the battery and re-inserting it into the remote. Since then, everything has worked perfectly. The small piece of cardboard keeps the battery in contact with the square battery contact inside the remote.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience.

SOURCE: Bose 321 Remote not working

Pull off the front panel, be carefull there is a ribbon attached. Detach the ribbon. There are 2 ribbons attached to the front panel, one that leads to the IR (remote sensor) and other for the controls on the top of the unit.

Most likely the ribbon that goes to the IR sensor detached itself, this is common if the unit is dropped etc. Insert the ribbons (2) re-attach the front panel and the remote should work fine. You'll notice some tape on the IR ribbon, I suggest using some stronger tape, BOSE tape thats not very good.

This happened to me on my 3-2-1 GS II system and fixed it.

No sound Bose wave

I took mine back to the Bose store and they gave me credit on my Wave that was about ten years old toward a new CD wave radio. I would recommend taking it to the Bose store and see what they can do for you.

Remote does not work, battery is good. Can I program my dish network remote? If so what codes can I use.

Sorry to hear about your original remote; we would be happy to help you with addressing your DISH remote to your Bose Wave Radio. Here is a list of some of the codes that we havefor Bose Wave Radio: 761, 664, 656, and 639.

Press and hold the AUX mode button until all mode buttons at the top of theremote come on, then release. Enter the number 2 then one of the codes for your Bose Wave Radio provided above. Press the pound (#) button, the mode light should flashthree times. Check that the code works by trying several different functions onthe remote to make sure it will properly operate your Bose Wave Radio. Keep in mindthat some codes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, please try the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment.

We hope this helps you, and thank you for being a valued DISH Network Customer!

My bose wave system is no responding to the remote. Anything I can do?

The only user serviceable part of this fine system is the battery in the remote. The battery used in most of these remotes is the "button" or "coin" type cell "CR-2032"You can find these at Walmart, Radio Shack, CVS etc. for just a few bucks. Bring the remote batteries with you to match to a replacement.

If that doesn't work, you may need a replacement remote or the radio may need repair.

Good luck!

Replace the 3 AA batteries that maintain memory & backup alarm function. That just may do the trick.

The remote for my Bose Wave radio-CD no longer works. I have changed the battery and put a new battery into another Bose remote--no luck and I want to play my Christmas CDs! Help!

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

  • Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave® music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure to angle the remote upward while pointing

  • Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work properly if there is something directly in front of the display

  • Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote

  • The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response

My bose wave radio II remote is not working. I

It will work without the remote, but can ve very unconfortable. If you have a webcam or digital camera or cell phone with camera, then point it to the small lamp in front of the remote and press any button. If the light blinks or keeps on, then the problem may be on the radio receptor. If light is dark, then take it to an electronics store an ask for an INFRARED LED DIODE replacement. This should work well.
