You can first check for any debris in the video tape player and double check that no settings are stopping the tape from playing (ie a stuck rewind button) . Otherwise, please use the services of geeksquad/bestbuy to refurbish your vcr player. You might also check out BandH (?) video to see if they can refurbish your video tape player.
For other type of video camera tapes you will have to try other methods like connect camera with tape to a DVD recorder and directly burn the DVDs. You can buy attachments and software for PC but I have found these very cumbersome to work with.
You need an 8mm player or the camera that recorded the tapes. Connect the video and audio from the 8mm player/camera to a VHS recorder. Put the 8mm on play and the VHS on record.
8 mm and the newer super 8 mm video tapes are different. You can't use super 8 mm in old player. And old tapes won't play well in new super 8 mm players. Like Sony!
yes you can directly play back your tape into the tv, if your camera has audio video out or an S-video out, just hooked up a connector into the tv component audio video input jack.
If your selection to playback - mode to play back is selected- is correct then it is possible that the head is clogged with dirt and so the images were not recorded.
Insert an old recorded tape into the player and see if the camcorder plays. use the external video/audio output to be connect to your TV to confirm.
If so the head is clogged, have the head cleaned with a tape cleaner or very gently on the head tips on the drum taking care not to force and damage the delicate head ferrite tips.
You try it with proper connection using a new or working wire if you have used a vcr to play back. Play the tape with any other camera.Bcoz your monitor may be fault. Play the head cleaning tape in the camera, and try
May be the recording head of your camera is clogged
connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks.
connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop.
Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v.
