Reset the player first, (manual will tell you how)
if that fails
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I was given the MW3836 GPX MP3 as a gift. I have never work with MP3's. I want to record some music in it and then listen to them. How can I do this? Thank you. I have Win XP on my pc.

Hi,

Please find details to connect your MP3/MP4 player to your computer:

In order tp download songs to the mp3 player firstly, you should make sure that which kind of format does your mp3 player supports, like:format MP3, WMA, WAV, ASF, ACT.If you are not so sure about it's format, please refer to the manual of your mp3 player.
Secondly, download the right format songs from internet( many sites have the capability to wownload free music) and save them. If not sure go to Google, and look for free songs.
Once done:
1.Get the songs you want onto a computer
2. Plug your Player into the computer it should have come with a cable when you bought it
3. (On Windows) Go to My computer from the start menu
4.Select your Player from the list of drives that you should see C: D: ect... (if you dont see yours specfically click on all of them untill you find one that looks like it should be
5. Once youve found it, copy or cut your songs or videos onto your player For an MP4 player your songs must be MP3 and videos in MP4 format
6. unplug your device and turn it on, that should have worked
Download all the music to your local PC, connect your mp4 player to your PC with USB cable 'make sure that all necessary drivers are installed', If it's connected > synchronise it with windows media player then drag and drop the music in the device panel.
Also some information on the process can be found by going to:

My computer says my Sony walkman mp4 is diconnected

When you ripped out the usb cord, it was prolly writing to disc so it lost data. You allways go down right site and eject an asb drive, your sony is a usb drive when you connect it.
Now i dont know what you should do, but scan for faults on the sony!

Can't figure out how to use the mp4 touchscreen player

I found a manual that is readable:
http://www.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/SYL_SMPK8854B_EN.PDF
But it doesnt tell you how to copy music from pc to player1
But lets try anyway;
Turn on the player and pc and insert the usb cable!
Now wait for abt a min. and on pc in Windows explorer therer should be another driver which is associated with the your player!
Now you can copy song from your song folder and drop them in the new drive which apperead when you plug in the usb cable!

Hope this helps!
lemme know how it works out!

MP4 Missil not working

I used real player to get songs on my missil sd-2415 MP4 player. You need to use the driver disk it came with to get it to work. Once you've used the driver you should be able to just plug your player into the computer via the USB cord, open real player Version 11, compatible with Windows XP, although the driver says win 98, it worked fine with my Windows Xp. Nothing really comes up once thr driver has been downloaded, so don't get confused, just follow the driver install wizard and it should be fine. Then on Real player just click on removable disk or player not sure of the exact wording but it's removable somthing the just drag and drop or click to move music from your playlist onto the player.
I had to fiddle around with this player a bit because the instructions are VERY LIMITED! that's putting it mildy but hey it is what it is. This little player is quite neat once you figure out it's little quirks! Good luck!
