This was super helpful. After a month of tooling around trying to navigate the menu blind I was on the brink of trashing it.

At first I had a dvd in player when I tried hitting the stop button and it didn't work. After taking the dvd out powering it off then back on and doing the 20 seconds on th stop button it turned blue as stated.

    Thank You!

When we play DVDs, the picture is very dark and is

Check your dvd settings, read the manual that came with it. Or you can just pump up the brightness on the tv when watching movies.

Anyways, hope this helps.

Universal Remote Control CODE

You would need to contact the company that makes the remote and maybe Cyberhome for the code.

Cyberhome 300 DVD Player: pal to ntsc mode?

You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.

Lost sound on DVD

I have a CH-DVD 300--not sure how different it is from the 200, but I have the same problem. Putting in an audio CD seems to do the trick, and is less hassle than unplugging (which also works for me).
