Question about True 49 cu. ft. / 1388 liter Commercial Freezer GDIM-49NT

# What is the normal operational pressure in lo/hi side at the compressor of commercial freezer like dispaly case, reach in cabinet or other any low temp refrigeration uses 502 or408A/404a. is there any rule of thumb to make it easy to remember those important parameters or formula in refrigeration.

Why yes there is. Generally speaking, the head pressure should be around the "ambient +30" rule.
That is, measure the entering air temp to the condenser, say 75 degrees. Now add 30 to that and get 105 degrees. Look at a P/T chart and see what the pressure is for that temp which is about 253 for R-404-A.
The evap on a freezer leads the load so, as a general rule, the evap temp is going to be around minus 10 degrees to get a 0 degree box. Coolers are different. So, the pressure for a minus 10 evap is around 25 or so. But the unit has to be close to operating temp. If the box is warm, naturally the pressure is higher. And what influences the pressure is whether or not it's a TXV or a cap tube system.
If a TXV and no receiver, charge by subcooling. If a receiver, fill by sight glass. If Cap tube, charge by superheat.

### What should the refrigerant pressures be on a reach in freezer that uses 404A refrigerant

Generally, low side is around 20-25 PSI and High side is about 235-250 when unit is close to operating temp. Expansion device effects this to some degree such as a cap tube can restrict and affect pressures as well as the amount of the charge in the system. Compressor efficiency is another.

### My artic freezer f22cwf4 compressor is not turning on. I have replaced the thermostat and all the fans are working. The unit is only 6 years old.

Not an expert opinion but seems that either you have low refrigerant and maybe the compressor is not therefore starting or the compressor has an issue, or the power to the compressor is missing.

### The unit not rich temperature

Hi, This can tell us many things such us : -; Compressor malfunction - Low refrigerant level - Thermostat wrong setting or malfunction - Door ajar - etc.
My suggest go check and fix ( if any problem) with first 3 items above ( these item have potential problem that cause you never reach your intended temperature).
regards,

### I have arctic air commercial freezer m # F2CW11 s/n# WB338336 freon R134a what psig ? low side and high side when system on

Good day,
When running, the low side is usually about 2 to 4 lbs pressure. The high side is determined by the load and the temperature in the room or area. Minimum 125 lbs. maximum approx. 150 lbs.

### Delfield MD # 6151 - S Sr # 206156-T not pulling down to Temp set at -10 and only pulling down to 24 freon is good

Take the top cover off that is next to the compressor,. That cover is about 30 by 30 inches. You will see two fans and an evaporator coil. Several things can happen. First these fans won't come on until the coil is somewhere around 10 degrees or if the door is open. So, once the freezer has been running look under the big cover and be sure both fans are running. If one or both are not running it won't pull down to 0. Also look at the coils and see how much frost has accumulated. If your defrost timer is not working it may be frozen over. When that happens air is blocked from reaching the inside of the freezer. While you are at it, fell of the coils if they are only partially freezing, you may be low on freon. If you have gauges to check the freon charge, check both the high side and the low side pressures. If the high side is less than 200 psi, you have some freon, but maybe not enough. If the high side pressure is 300 psi, you have something blocking the freon from returning to the compressor. Usually a blocked cap tube or a malfuncting expansion valve. Finally check the condenser coils which is the radiator thing out where the compressor is located. If it clogged with dust and grease, it will not dissapate the heat from the freon and will intefere with the operation of the entire unit. Clogged condener coils are probably the number one cause of burned out compressors. Good luck.

### Model km-250baf hoshizaki with weighed in correct amount of 404a the head preasure risies to over 400 psi i think it is the txv advise me if i am right

There are a lot of variables that cause high head pressure. Be sure the cool ing fan is operating properly. It should come on whenever the condenser coil feels warm to the touch. It will cycle on and off as the pressures change. A clogged up coil will also cause high head pressure. If you don't have sufficient water flowing over the evaporator plate, where the ice freezes, the head pressure will go up. You need to check the low side head pressure as well. Weighing the charge is a good start to charging the machine , but the first question I would ask is why are you charging it? Was there a leak, or compressor change?
If you had a compressor burnout, did you replace tthe drier-filter?If not, it may be stopped up from burnout residue. That will also cause high head pressure. If you did not vacuum the system there may have been refrigerant still in the system before you started the new charge. Check the items I mentioned and see if that helps.

### The motor run for about 5 second and stop, it keepe doing that since this morning. what should I do?

Hi,
You probably have a freon leak and the compressor is cutting out on low pressure.... then it stops... the pressure builds and it starts again... it will kill it's self doing that...get it serviced right a way...

### Normal Operating pressure for true 2 door Freezer R404A Room Under 80 degrees F Box at -10 degrees F

The pressures depend, somewhat, on the expansion device,i.e. a TXV or Cap Tube. Take a pressure reading, then convert it to a temperature. The evap temp should be right at 10 colder than the box temp. Remember, heat flows to cold so the evap has to "Lead the Load" in order to cool. In many cases, the condensing pressure is usually ambient temp, plus 30, then convert to a pressure. These are general accepted practices that have been used for many years.

Hope this helps

### Freezer Not Fan not running!

Most all commercial freezers have some sort of fan delay/ defrost termination device. Commonly called a "Klixon" (pronounced clicks-on). It is a device that is attached to the evap. It's function is to terminate the defrost cycle when the evap reaches a certain temp, say about 50 degrees or so, to ensure there is no build up of frost/ ice on the evap. It then allows the compressor to run, and cool the evap down to a reasonable temp., say about 20 degrees, and then let the evap fan come on. It prevents overloading the compressor during a high temp condition, and it also prevents circulating warm air left from the defrost cycle. I believe this device is most likely your problem. With no air circulating, the box will no cool down.. I have seen them burn and/or slhort internally. They can come apart. too. I would look here for that problem. the True manufacturing website does not give alot of info on this piece of equipment, such as a wiring diagram but manuals are available.
Check this out and let me know how it comes out.
