Disk drive is making a loud noise, and is no longer reading the disc. just makes a loud clicking noise when injecting or ejecting the disc.

PS3 blu-ray drives are pretty problematic. The best solution is to send your ps3 back (without opening it and trying to fix it yourself (voids the warranty)) to sony. Your drive sounds broken, happened to me once before, sent it back, and now its like brand new (took a bit for them to get it back to me though)

Why My Ps3 Keeps Ejecting BD?

This is a bad drive. I'd replace it immediately before trying anymore disks lest it damage the disks. Usually this occurs when there is a read error. It is also possible there is a disk stuck in the drive, jammed inside, the sensors, sensing the second disk automatically ejects the one you put in. Either way remove the drive and replace it with a PS3 replacement drive. (Note a way to test if it's a bad bluray lense is to stick a DVD in the drive. If it accepts the DVD and plays, then it can only read the DVDs and not the blu ray disks. If this is the case you've blown the blu ray laser, it still needs to be replaced.) If all else fails take it to a tech place and have them diagnose the problem.

Hi I have a G640 model laptop, when I am trying to download to disc the drive seems to be making a very loud noise when the disc is being read, could you please help or offer any advice? Thanks

Does the disk get scratched when you take it out?
What is the loud noise like exactly? One continuous long scrrrr noise, or something like a tapping noise?
By download, you are referring to burning? Do the disks come out working fine and readable by other devices or computers?

You can try to put in a disk cleaner disk, such as :http://www.amazon.com/Maxell-DVD-LC-Lens-Cleaner-Blue/dp/B00000JPPI/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1308503466&sr=1-7
You can find disk cleaner things like that in bestbuy or radioshack. I am referring to cleaning the disk drive lens, not the disk itself.

Try to use a different disk brand, and if all else fails, I suggest giving it back via warranty, as most likely it is a mechanical problem with the drive itself, in which case you would not be able to fix it yourself unless you take it apart and try to find what is making the noise, which could take a while depending on your experience with electronics.

My Wii Console just started making a noise when it is trying to read the disk. You can hear it spinning up very loud. I then tried to eject the disk and it made a very loud noise and wouldn't eject the...

Maybe the disc reader in the Wii is having problems, this could be natural for the Wii, but if it isn't reading the disc, then try talking to the nintendo company and ask them that there is a loud noise in the Wii when its reading discs, they should know what to do. My Wii does that sometimes, especially Super Smash Brothers Brawl, but it still works though. hope that helps.

My Wii Reads Disk, but WONT EJECT IT

If it is still under warranty use the link provided

Nintendo Support

Fill out their form and be very descriptive when asked and they will repair it.

Alternatively you may choose to open the case and examine the damage - This is unadvisable as you warranty will be void and you could further damage the console

Jammed cd drive

  • Touch the eject button on the PLAYSTATION 3 system front for 10 seconds or longer to force the disc to eject. After removing and before reinserting a disc into the PLAYSTATION 3, turn off the system, and then turn on the system again to resume use.
  • If the disc cannot be inserted, you may need to send your system in for service, please click on the link below.
