Belt replacement Putting the belt bagk on

  • zuzi5 Jun 16, 2008

I have the problem of getting the hook to engage the belt. The hook only grabs the belt when it goes in the opposite direction and the red arrows line up. This is wrong because you cannot close the lid (that holds the light) The solution given here does not tell me how to remedy the problem. More specifics, please!

How to Change belts on dc33

The belts are in the clutch. You will need to disassemble the clutch to replace the belts. It's easier to replace the entire clutch. First remove the brushroll, then remove three screws and the cover over the clutch assembly, remove the belt around the motor shaft to pull the clutch from the nozzle housing. It is wise to replace brushroll if it's worn or frayed. I have a tool available to make putting the brush roll back in easier. I also have belts, clutch, brushrolls and filters available if needed.

How to replace belt on hoover SH40060

You have to remove the roller to get to the belt' look at the face and bottom to find the screws that hold the plate that covers the roller. Take the plate off and look @ the roller, to see where the belt runs. then take the roller out, you should be able to see the pin shaft that comes from the motor, the belt goes around it and over the roller.Be patient putting it all back together, and don't over tighten the screws, they strip easily, Good luck!

Howto change a belt

Remove the top or bottom cover of the power nozzle/base of the vacuum. The screws will be on either the top or bottom of the base. Remove these screws to gain access to the brushroll. Remove the brushroll and attach your belt then putting the belt around the brushroll and using the brushroll to stretch the belt into place. Replace the top and bottom cover.

Can't replace belt roller want turn after putting belt on

First make sure the belt is centered properly. If it's not, the belt will break before you've even used it. Depending on the model of vacuum, there should be a reset switch on the power head, or back of the machine.

The bristles will not spin.

See if the belt (that drives the bristles) if is loose or need replacement. The belts are located either on the left or right side of the bristle brush(you can locate it by putting the vacuum upright and see under the brushes). If it is loose or broken replace it(walmart has replacements for it or any hardware store)just bring the belt for the replacement number written on the belt,or know the brand and model number.

Belt replacement

It's a fairly simple job. The belt just loops over the end of the beater bar and motor shaft. Need to take the cover off the beater bar housing to get to it. Most difficult part is stretching the belt while putting the beater bar back in the housing.

Beater Bar Belt loose and bar won't turn

Provided that the motor isn't loose, the belt should fit tightly. If you had reassembled the beater bar back in the vacuum improperly, the belt would be tighter, rather than looser. If you are sure that the motor isn't loose and the beater bar was reinstalled correctly, then either tha belt slipped back off the motor shaft, or they sold you the wrong replacement belt.

How do I put a new belt on Hoover Concept One vaccume cleaner?

you most likely have to remove the cover over the roller, which has screws usually. then you will see the belt. the roller slips out replace the belt by putting it over the roller and a metal rod that is up under the cover you removed. this will be a hard job putting the roller bar back in the vacuum because the belt is so tight.
