I have had the same deck for four years and installed and removed from 4 different vehicles. the deck has been through some stuff lets put it that way. mine does the same thing as yours, i have found that you just keep ejecting the disk untill it reads. usually only takes a couple times and then mine works just fine.

Cd player will not play cd's. Error code: TOC ERR

A few things it could be:

No disc has been loaded in the disc magazine.

CDs being used are burned, test using different media or an actual CD.

Very dirty or scratched CDs.

The CDs are upsidedown.

I get the TOC Error, when I put bought cds in.

don't think you will like this answer but, it probably time to get a new cd player... you could try using a cd cleaner designed to clean the laser or spray the insides with compressed air.

Kenwood KDC-MP528 CD TOC ERR

Every one of those Kenwoods that I have fixed with that error needed the laser pick up replaced. so there is no easy fix for it.

If you have tried several disc's and they all have a TOC err, and you know the disc's are in decent condition, then you will need the pick up replaced.

First try cleaning the disc you are using. I use windex and a soft cloth like a bath towel, it works great at getting fingerprints and other stuff off the disc without scratching the disc. A bad fingerprint or a bad scratch right at the innermost part of the disc (where the TOC is located) will cause any CD player to not read the TOC, producing a TOC ERROR. you never know, you might get lucky.

Toc code keeps comeing up on my kenwood kdc x5589

Hi, toc error means that the laser is struggling to read the Table of Contents which tells the unit where all the information is on the disc, it may be something as simple as the lens needs cleaning or something as complicated as the laser needs replacing, but you could try running a cd disc cleaner through it first. Good luck......

TOC Error

Burned ones? Or do "real" CDs do it, too? If ALL do, then the laser was damaged or misalligned and will have to be serviced.

Wont play recorded cd's

thats a "table of contents" error. Try using a different program to make your cds.
