When are you getting this password authentication? Is this when you try to sign on to the computer? If so, maybe you are going booting to somewhere like a domain that you shouldn't be on if you don't know the password.
Is the the Authentication for trying to get on a wireless network?
If it is asking for a password on boot up then unless you made a password you should be able to just click log in with entering a password.
I had the same problem on my dell year's ago
Is there any clr cmos written on the board. The motherboards which do not have jumpers come with three point like solder on the board. You have to short first two manually with some wire. If it is not there then you have to flush the bios with the bios flushing utility.
if you are locked out then start up and hold down the power button and this will unlock it and if this does not work the i am affraid u will get this fixed by tell
If you can get to the CMOS battery, there should be a set of jumpers close by that should say Clear CMOS or CMOS reset, or something to that effect. There are usually 3 pins, and the jumper is between 2 of them. Remove the jumper and put back over the pin that was open, and the pin next to it that was jumped before. Leave it for a few seconds, then put back to original position. This should clear the bios, and all you in.
