I've just got this smartphone and the first three days it sync only with the usb cable. Yestarday it didnt and says: "Cannot communicate with the PC because the port is not available". I tried connecting via bluetooth and present the same message.
I reinstalled the microsoft activesync 4.5 (just in case some files were damage) but still nothing.
Please help meand e-mail me at [email protected]

Usually rebooting the phone will cure this, I presume you have switched the phone off, removed the battery and restarted?
make sure in
File--> connection settings
that usb and the port you have assigned to bluetooth is enabled
(all tick boxes checked)
try deleting the device from active sync
File--> Mobile device --> (select your device)
then go to
File --> Delete mobile device
make sure you have copies of any un-synced data as it may be lost but shouldn't.
If I remember rightly (dont have a touch to hand) also delete the link to the pc in the active sync window on the touch
Menu--> options (select the server name) Menu-->Delete
and re create the profile by plugging in the device.

did you try to install htc sync? if not http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/ download this on your pc and it will gives you the driver for your phone once it's connected. Use debugging mode.
If you experience problems when using the USB cable during synchronisation:
Check that the USB cable is properly connected to the phone and the computer.
Make sure the phone is turned on.
Restart the computer, without disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the phone, and try to synchronise again.
If you still experience problems using synchronisation software, e.g. Sony Ericsson PC Suite or Active Sync, try to uninstall and reinstall the program you are using.
this might be the case. if not enable active sync on phne
good luck
Actually, I've had this happen twice to me. The first time I **** at the dealership (the car was just 2 weeks old). They took the car for the day and fixed it but wouldn't really tell me what they did. The second time it happened I fixed it myself. DO ALL THIS WITH THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. Under the driver's side dash, right to the left of the steering wheel column (or to the right if you are hanging upside down trying to see down there ;-) ) you'll notice a black plug-like object with a thick bound cable running out of it. The thing to note here is there is a white locking lever on the plug. If you pull down the white lever, the plug lock will release. Then, gently pull the plug away from the base it is plugged into - you have now unplugged sync. Wait a few seconds and plug it back in. Be very careful to guide it in correctly as it has tons of pins and you don't want to bend any of them. Once back in, re-engage the white locking lever.
Finally, turn your car back on. Once on, the USB port should now work but most likely Sync will still have problems recognizing the device (especially one thats been previously paired/indexed). If it does, perform a 'master reset' of sync through its advanced menu. After doing all of the above, I was able to re-add my iphone as a USB music device and bluetooth phone.
Let me know if this helps?
1. Not sure why its not syncing. You may try uninstalling active sync from your computer and reinstalling. 2. Get another memory card and put the files on there, or get a card reader and transfer them to your computer. Uninstall any unnecessary programs from the phone to free up space.
software you need to install software
let it install before connecting phone to comp
then after finish the install then connect the phone to usb cable
you might if this didnt work the first time have to uninstall all the software and try a fresh copy of the software in comp to sync everything with desktop manager
Hi,
I fixed my problem of my HTC touch not Syncing with my phone thru the USB cable.
Go to
Start, Settings, System, Power, Advanced and select/enable the option that says "When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the PC."
If it still does not work at first then disconnect the USB from your PC/device, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in.
You'll suddenly see your phone and your PC syncing.
Hallelujah!
