You will find replacement battery at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-parts/shaver-replacement-battery-aa-nimh-p-108.html

Start by removing the foil and cutter. Then remove the swivel frame by removing the two tiny screws on each side of the inside of the swivel frame.
To open the shaver you will first need to remove the two round screw covers on the bottom. Then remove screws. You can then gently pry the two halves apart from the bottom

If you look at the bottom of the shaver, you'll notice there are slots that (if you had the right tool) can be used to rotate the round bottom piece in one direction (I refer to the the round piece has the 2 charging pins inside it.). That round piece is geared inside the shaver, and engages a geared piece of plastic that slides and can push the shaver open from the inside. An elegant touch. But as noted, one can pry gently without using this feature.
I mention this because this shaver-opener assembly can become misaligned, such that the charging plug won't fit after the shaver is closed. The sliding piece has to be in the right position. I had to deal with this tonight, while replacing my shaver's NiCd battery for the 2nd or 3rd time. (Yes, these are very good shavers).
And oh, those tiny screws at the swivel frame, I was afraid of losing them. They are not attracted to a magnetized screwdriver, either; one must manually insert them to start.

Shaver has no power, plugging in does no good. Maybe needs new battery? How to do that

You will find compatible battery for model 4501 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-battery-aa-nimh-p-108.html

to open the shaver you will need to remove the two round screw covers on the bottom. Then remove the screws underneath. Next, remomve the foil and cutters and then remove the swivel frame be taking out the tiny screw on each side. Pay attention to which way the swivel frame goes on.
You can now seperate the front and back by gently prying apart at the bottom. Inside you will be able to lift out the circuit board. For easier replacement, it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs.

Will not charge!

The battery is, most likely, the problem and needs to be replaced. To open model 4501 shaver, remove the two round screw covers on the bottom and then remove the screws underneath. Remoe the swivel frame at the top by removing the two tiny screws. Make note as to the right and left side of the swivel frame so you put it back on the same way it came off. You can then seperate the front and back of the shaver by seperatig it at the bottom first. Once opened, you will find a circuit board with one battery attached. You will find a replacement battery at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

Not shaving close enough.

This problem is usually cause by a worn out shaving head (foil and cutters). Braun suggests that you change these every 12-18 months for best performance. You will find replacements at shaveroutlet.com for your model 4501 Braun shaver. See link below.

http://shaveroutlet.com/foil-cutter-fit-braun-4000-series-flex-control-twin-control-p-146.html

It is also possible that your shaver is running too slowly due to an old battery if you've never replaced it. If you require a new battery, it can also be ordered from shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-battery-aa-nimh-p-108.html

To change the battery you will need to be able to do a little soldering. Open the shaver by removing the two round screw covers on the bottom of the shaver and then the screws underneath. You will also need to remove the foil and cutters and then the swivel frame which is attached by two tiny screws. Once removed, you will be able to open the shaver from the bottom and seperate the front and back. Remove the circuit board to easily get to the battery.
Note: The tabs on this type battery will work for most applications however they may be slightly different than some original equipment. For these instances, it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather that removing them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can them solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

Need to replace 5569 rechargeable batteries

If you are handy and know how to solder (and have the tools required), you can probably do the replacement yourself.

At the bottom of the razor are two plastic caps on either side of the charging port, you'll need to pry them out with a sharp pick or thin knive tip. Once removed, you can get to the screws that hold the front and rear case halfs onto the main shaver chassis where the PCB with the rechargeable battery is soldered onto the board.

Unsolder the battery and solder in the new replacement battery and put the case back together, making sure all the parts are in the correct posistion, and you're ready to recharge the shaver and start shaving again.

To find your replacement battery, try Electric Shaver Service. They also do repairs, so you might want to get an estimate if you don't want to do the repair yourself, etc. They're reliable and fast in getting shavers repaired and back to you quickly. 1-888-476-1785

Here's a link to the page with your battery on it and the toll free number to call for estimates too.

Follow the instruction and remove the swivel head. Then remove the 2 screws at the bottom. I still have problem sliding the two side head support off.

Braun 4501 shaver non-function...

You might try the original type battery (rechargable) Batteries Plus has them for less than 3 dollars, and they will solder the leads to the battery FREE! If you were lucky enought to get the 4501 apart, you may have problems getting it back together. Be sure front and back panels are free from the sides and it wont go back together unless you put the TOP snaps in first. Good luck...I got mine going for $ 2.78...
