The top half of the page prints okay, but bottom half the color are faded.
I called in the xerox technician, but she could not identify the problem.
She kept saying, it could be the Drum unit or IBT or Fuser or......something else.
I declined her assistance, but now i am stuck with a non working printer?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nathan
If you are doing color copies and missing more than 1 color or if 1st copy is fine 2nd is not. It most likely retract clutch for cleaner to IBT belt. If all colors there and half copy than can be 2 Btr retract clutch. Also check silver patch on inbroad end of IBT belt for dirt caused by bad drum. Also check for bad bearing on front left side of Ibt frame.
If you open the front door of the DC1250 and pull out the conveyor
unit, you will see the heater unit on your right hand side. We need you to
remove the heater cover (fastened by two screws). Once the heater cover is
opened, you will see a black long strip on your left hand side whereby you will
notice oil on it. Next you remove the fuser web (on the right hand underside
of the heater unit) whereby it will reveal the Upper heater roller and Lower
pressure roller. Please check if you see any oil stains on the Upper fuser
roller. If there is, it means the oil pump, oil pipe etc are working well (i.e
oil is supplied to the Upper roller).
Next we need you to check if there are any scratch marks on the Upper
Heater Roller. We need you to recall if you have had encounter or incidences
of paper jam at the heater unit whereby you pulled out the paper to clear the
jam. We are concerned that the upper roller may be scratched. From the print
out results, there is a fusing problem with the copier, which could be a result
of the fuser nip clutch and also the upper fuser roller.
Remove drum unit. check charge wire for contamination. clean or replace. Visually check fuser for an even glossy appearance. If it looks dry or damaged in any way a service is needed. IBT is a bit more difficult to check. If you have the know how to remove it. You should see a very shiny surface free from contamination of toner or paper dust, ect. clean if necessary and replace. If contamination reoccurs suspect cleaner. Last is the BTR check for proper operation and clean, repair or adjust if necessary.
