Hi, the following alternative may solve your problem:
Check to make sure the volume on the audio source is set to a normal volume. If the volume is too low, the transmitter will not turn on.
If it does not solve it, your system has a power problem in the power supply. Make checks on the regulator, it might have a open, if you are not a tech, let a tech take a look on your set to verify the damage component.
You have a faulty connection plug. These are small and sensitive. Please take your unit to Radio Shack and insist they help with an actual test plug in. It should then be a cheap fix and you don't have to credit me any money. Just don't leave any rating less than 4 thumbs. Foget I was here. LOL

I have seen this exact problem a few times, it means the transmitter has failed. Do you think this unit may still be under warranty? If you happened to purchase the machine with a major credit card (not a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the unit.
Thanks

volume is mid way up and it still does not come on. How do you check the power supply? I have a digital meter but I cannot get the prongs inside the plug.
I had the power supply checked and it is not working - tried a new one at Radio Shack but the transmitter still will not work. Now what do I do? any suggestions
