Normally when the power light is flashing green on the monitor this means that the video drivers are having problems.

Note with LCD monitors they are very picky about the signal that they get and if they get a signal that they can not support they will go black to keep them from burning out.

The best way to fix this issue is to connect a CRT monitor to your computer and reboot the system. After you reinstall the video card driver you may need to also install the actual monitor drivers for the monitor. Note in most cases the default Windows driver will send the proper info over to the monitor but in this case that driver is where the problem is and updating to the actual driver will help keep this problem from happening again. The link below will show you how to update the monitor driver in Windows 7.

How to install your monitor drivers in Windows 7

If you still have trouble or do not have access to a CRT monitor you may want to try the monitor on another computer. If it works then you will need to back up your data and reinstall Windows on your computer.

Samsung Sync Master 914 has no picture. When power supply is only in, green light flashes slowly. When both power and vga are in, green light flashes more quickly. I hear a faint clicking sound coming...

I would check the caps with ohm meter. Make sure they all show increasing resistance. Caps can be bad without looking bad. Check output voltage on the power board, should be around 12V. If all that checks out then I'd look next at the backlight bulb. I'v repaired many monitors and the problem was almost always overheated caps on the power board. Post back and let me know.

Hello: Have you tried to adjust you Green Screen control on the focus block assembly. located behind the front panel assembly. Here is a solution that might help you, turn off the green by turning off this control, make sure u look at the block and make sure you are not turning the green focus knob instead of scrn crl. Turning the control slowly to the left the retrace lines should disappear as the green video darkens. Then turn the control slowly to the right just until the retrace lines reappear, then turn back slowly left just until the lines go away. If the screen is Blanking on green tube only then you have a video blanking problem on the main signal board. Or possibly a IK bias problem. It is also possible that the green CRT is defective. The FBT is not bad because the screens are lighting up indicating you have high voltageand heater voltage which is derived from one of the secondary windings of the FB. If it is a Blanking problem i would look into replacing the A Board assembly.

Green light blinking screen blank

Hi Suzee,

Is the green flashing on the tower or the monitor?

If it is flashing on the monitor, then it might be tht the monitor is not gettign signal from the tower.
To check, disconnect the monitor from the tower and check the monitor. If you get a msg on the screen like no input signal or check video cable, then 99% monitor is fine.

Check for the power supply light at the back of the tower.

Disconnect everything from the computer and then press and hold the power button on the comp for about 30 seconds.

Then connect the cables and check if it is working.
