Motorazr V3m Hi. I just got the cell phone today and I tried text message,but it kept saying'' Memory full'' Wats is up with that?

You must clear your read, sent, and draft messages in order to receive new messages when it says that.

I mentioned this in another area. We just got my son a motorola razr v3m, verizon. Any time he tried to check his inbox (which is text) or tried to send a text it would show memory full....this was the same if he tried to take a picture and send it.

First take out your battery, with the battery out, hold down you on button for like 15 seconds to drain the phone of juice, then put your battery back in it and turn it on. If this did not reset your phone, and if you are on verizon as your carrier, then you need to call them and make sure that they have you set up on their text messaging program. It used to be that if you didn't have, then they would charge you .20 cents a text, but with some of the razr, such as the v3m, you have to actually be on a monthly text plan to view inbox, send text, send pics, and receive pics and texts.

Go to ur message settings. All txts and go to Auto Erase. Make sure its on. Should work after that. Thats what they did to mine at Verizon.

in your messaging screen, choose settings (soft key). Under "all messages" choose option 2 "auto erase". Switch this to on. If you also switch "auto save" to on, it will store up to 50 texts before deleting the oldest text as new ones are received. Anyway, turning auto erase on is the way to fix your problem. I don't know what it is, but razrs can be finicky like that sometimes.

Just a note,

Despite the fact that this is a wonderfull solution and bravo for solving it just to mention that even when the memory of the phone is large the text memory is most likely a reserved size.

In some phones this memory is not reserved but it is not easy to tell from specifications.

Hey Travis,

Text Messages are stored onto your SIM card and not your phone. You would have to clean out your mail box (clean out old messages in your inbox, sent messages and outbox).

DELETE YOUR COOKIES AND TEMP INTERNET FILES

Even I has the same problem. You need to change the message settings Auto Erase -- to On
Message --> Settings-->All Messages--> Auto Erase-->ON

If this is for a Verizon phone:
Menu -> Messaging -> Settings -> All Msg -> Auto Erase

Set it to on and select OK.

If you go back in and set it back to off, you should now be able to send text messages!
