My Garage door remote 139.53681B is not working. I changed the battery and still does not work. I have not reprogrammed it because I need to know if reprogramming will mess up my keypad entry code.

It could be that your door is binding on the way up and so it stops automatically. Try releasing the emergency pull cord and move the door up and down by hand to see if it is binding, probably near the bottom. The track may be misaligned or there could be something rubbing against the door.
