You have either what is called a dry joint on the headphone socket or the headphone socket is broken.

When you plug the headphones in it switches off the speakers, so if the socket gets damaged or becomes disconnected from the board the speakers will also not work.

you need someone with VERY good soldering skills and a spare headphone socket to repair or replace the socket

Couldnt say whats happening with the joystick, maybe a bit of the headphone socket has got jammed in it, you probably wont find out untill the psp is opened up

My sons psp keeps freezing when playing games. Tryed a different memory card. Also checked for software updates. Dont know what else to do.

this should be due to a bad UMD laser, you may need to buy a new one.make sure you get a good guide because the install is pretty technical stuff. Check out http://www.squidoo.com/psp-repair They can show you how to fix anything on your psp: firmware, the LCD screen, joystick, any and everything!rate me if this works..

Joystick problems

The only way this can happen is if you have damaged the joystick function area. You have to change the joystick and put another one.

PSP joystick won´t work

It should work fine without it. Make sure you keep that little clear rubber part safe. It's what fills the gap between the analog stick and the motherboard on the PSP

No sounds when i play psp games

1) Try plugging in and out the headphone jack with headphones and see if the speakers turn on
2) Make sure the volume button + is pushed until you reach max volume.
3) You may have a broken speaker from dropping the PSP which has occurred to me before.

Audio speed problem

so you are saying that there is no music. ok. you might need to get a new speaker. or there is a bad connection. try plugging head phones into the jack of the psp. if u can hear music just fine then its your speaker or a bad connection. if you still cant hear music. then you need a new sound board.

Psp analog joystick

thats what happens when you lose the silicone pad with copper connections inside.

another posibility is that you didnt tie the screws hard enough. thatr worked for me.

if you dont tie the hard enough the analog goes to the upper left hand corner. and in the game, the player might walk around in circles, lol

PSP game keeps scrolling

Ok. Its most likely a joystick problem. this happens quite often. you can replace the cap (the movey bit) or you might need a total replacement (or something is loose and you need to get someone to look at it for you)
