Hey guys, I have a friend thats using this webcam. She is having problems with the volume. It seems to be really high, so much so i can hear a pin drop and a very anoying loud rushing sound. Im not sure where the best place to start is and if there is a way of adjusting the volume of the wecams mic. She did have this problem a while ago and seemed to fix it by sheer chance but cant remember how. She also uses an ear piece and headphones with a built in mic. Any thought? No really that technical so go easy lol.
Have her go to Control Panel and click on SOUNDS, then AUDIO . When the window comes up Click on Speakers, then adjust the volume by sliding the volume control to thye right. While she is there have here put a check on SHOW in Task Bar. Then click ok. Hope that will be of some help. Bud

hi marco, the problem seems with the switches on the face. make sure that ALL switches have a "click" sound when pressed down. if not then that switch needs to be replaced. faulty switches can cause the face functions to work erratically. to try another route use your unit with the wireless remote control to check if all functions work well. cheers.
Sony audio products are not worth the buck, you will be facing worst problems in the future, my advice is just to change the amps. It is causing the problem, it cant handle frequencies when volume is turned up. and it may say 1000 watts but actually this is the peak rating your amp can handle thus meaning that it couldnt handle constant high volume usage, try crunch, kicker or hifonics amp, and look at the RMS rating on the amps when shoping.

Well to be hones 85 sounds pretty loud to me, generally the bose acoustimass module shouldnt really be distorting or crackling unless under extremely high sound levels.
It could possibley be that the speaker cone in the bass module has a slight perforation so it would distort at high levels. However other problems could be loose connections inside the unt or outside the unit. If your friend doesnt have it above 85 under normal circumstances I wouldnt worry to much about it but if there is a tear in the cone the problem could get worse.
you may have a webcam that is not vista compatable. If the drivers are not on creatives website for your cam, for vista, you are suckered. Try swapping your cam with a friend or a recycle website for a one that is vista compatable. best of luck!
