I also have a polaroid I630 that does not recognize that new photo batteries have been put in. It shuts off. Help! Is it fixable or do i need to trash it? It is like new, and used very little, just too late to take back to Sears. Thanks.I also have a polaroid I630 that does not recognize that new photo batteries have been put in. It shuts off. Help! I bought mine knowing it had this problem. I took it apart, removed the plastic piece on the positive battery terminal, sanded the corrosion off the terminal, then I applied wd40 with a qtip to the terminal. When I put the batteries in it worked perfect

It is easy to use for all kinds of photo tasks including downloading off all types of cameras
Second more complex:
Windows should recognize your camera plug in camera go to my computer click on the camera drag the photos you want to the location on your computer you would like to keep them
Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

If you take or send it in for service, the cost will be over $100. Is it worth it to you? If you're handy with electronic equipment and soldering, you could buy a similar model on Ebay and swap out the screens.
I looked at all the settings that you are able to change on MY camera and no.... you can't.... I was wondering that too a while back and I had to just give up on that.... :D hahaha.... but I hope this helped....
This was very difficult to find, but I found it just for you! Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up! Thanks so much for understanding, it would be a huge help to me. Here is the manual / guide:
I have the same camera and the same problem, if you use lithium batteries it keeps the charge longer because regular batteries aren't strong enough. Hope that helps you! :)
I bought 1 with the same problem. got it for 6 dollars so it was worth lookin into. I took it apart, removed the black plastic cover on the positive battery terminal, then I sanded the corrosion off the terminal, after that I applied WD40 with a qtip then put it back together. Works like a charm now
