Do you have a firewire cable? You should be able to use Windows Movie Maker to import footage as long as you have it connected via firewire.

Hope this helps!

Capture video from Canon Vixia stopped working with iMovie

Video files come from Canon Vixia hg20 are in AVCHD format and this is a format which is difficult to be imported and edited by FCP and iMovie. So you have to convert AVCHD files to other easily edited video format, like FCP and iMovie preferred MOV format.

As for AVCHD Converter, have a try Aunsoft MTS Converter for Mac which is is a powerful video converter, player, editor for Mac and Windows. It can play many various movie files; it can encode movies to many formats, including iPod; it can cut, trim and join movies.

You can use this program to open and play most movie formats transport streams; edit them with crop and Trim;export them to QuickTime, AVI, DV and MPEG-4 files with more than professional quality, so you can easily import them in a DVD authoring tool, and use them with many other applications or devices.

I can't upload video from my Canon GL1

first off make sure you are positively connected to computer via usb. then make sure your drivers are updated. then see if it connects. also note that your camera screen may say "would you like to connect to usb port?" make sure if that does appear that you hit yes. best of luck!

Downloading flash memory files to a editing program like Windows

I believe you have to pull the files from your computer into Movie Maker. Open Windows Movie Maker and use the import feature to get the video files.

I cant connect to any networks i need drivers

You need to give a clearer description of the problem you are having and the type of computer you are using and the way all the components are set up. Are you using a network connection or a direct connection to the internet. What type of windows program are you using , what type of movie maker are you having problems with.Did this problem just start or have you had a ongoing problem that just got worse. You can try using the safe-start up mode in windows and try deleting the last program that you used before you starting having this problem.Go into the Bios on start up and find the start up in safe mode and try deleting the program and see if all your functions are restored. If not you may have to further troubleshoot the situation to determine the problem. If all this fails try restoring you computer to a earlier setup with the windows restore function. Hope this helps you with your problem.

Unable to import video to computer on sony handycam DCR-DVD703E

I have a Sony computer, Windows XP, and my camera records on tape, so the best I can do is give you some hints.

On my system, I first load a video editing program: Pinnacle Studio, Nero, or Windows Movie Maker and use that to pick up my video. I believe that Mac has at least one very good movie editing program. Load that first, and then use it to load your video file.

A Mac owner could probably give you more explicit directions.

Good Luck

EDITING HELP ME

Well, first, what kind of platform are you one? Mac? Windows? Both have decent editing programs that are available. If your using a Mac, plug in your camera to firewire or usb and fire up iMovie. A PC, plug in and try windows movie maker. They are fairly simple programs that make importing and editing pretty easy.
If you are looking for other options, check out Ulead's Video Studio FX, its about 150 bucks and claims to be user friendly.

DV-PC recorder

DV-PC Recorder is a Windows XP only application that enables you to record images and sound on the tape in the camcorder and on the computer's hard disk by connecting a camcorder equipped with the DV CONTROL function to a computer using an IEEE1394 (DV) cable. DV-PC Recorder has the following features. 1. You can record movies simultaneously on your computer's hard disk and on the tape by pressing the start/stop button on the camcorder. 2. It enables long, continuous recordings, which you cannot achieve with the tape alone. (Approximately four and a half hour's worth of recording will fit on a 60GB hard disk.) 3. You can start editing the movies on the computer right after recording, as the images and sound are saved on the computer's hard disk. (Optional editing software is required to edit movies) 4. You can record movies on the tape in the camcorder and on the computer's hard disk by controlling the DV-PC Recorder from your computer.
